Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in Washington Heights, Manhattan, where he’s been on staff since.

Carissa Woelich, OD, FAAO, is a residency-trained optometrist practicing at Rocky Mountain Eye Center in Missoula, Montana. She provides a suite of eye care services for patients and has experience managing various ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetes, and corneal conditions.

After growing up in rural North Dakota, Dr. Woelich received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a minor in chemistry from North Dakota State University in Fargo. She earned her doctorate from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, before pursuing a residency specializing in ocular and refractive surgery at Chu Vision Institute in Bloomington, Minnesota. 

While studying at Pacific, Dr. Woelich earned membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and held many leadership positions. 

In her spare time, Dr. Woelich enjoys getting outside as much as possible and finding new trails on which to hike. She also enjoys playing the piano, running, and spending time with friends and family.

Wayne Mutter, OD, is an optometrist on the team at Rocky Mountain Eye Center, seeing patients at the Missoula, Montana, office. Dr. Mutter provides comprehensive primary eye care, along with management of ocular disease, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetes.

Dr. Mutter was born and raised in the small, beautiful Appalachian town of Grundy, Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, where he graduated as a member of the football team. Dr. Mutter is a graduate of the Kentucky College of Optometry in Pikeville, Kentucky. While in school, Dr. Mutter participated in research and presented a poster on intraocular pressure in specialized conditions at an international research conference.

He was lucky enough to complete a rotation providing eye care on the Fort Belknap Reservation in north-central Montana, along with rotations in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Glenwood Springs, Colorado, studying ocular disease, surgery co-management, and primary care optometry. 

In his free time, Dr. Mutter enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and cooking.

Warren Morton, OD, is a residency trained optometrist practicing at our Missoula office. He was raised in Casper, Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Family and Consumer Sciences- Human Nutrition and Food from the University of Wyoming. He graduated Cum Laude from Southern California College of Optometry, after serving as class president for three years and filling various teaching assistant laboratory roles.

After optometry school Dr. Morton completed a residency in Chinle, Arizona on the Navajo Nation. This underserved community is four hours or more from ophthalmology care, and allowed him additional experience with ocular trauma, ocular emergencies, and chronic disease management including volumes of glaucoma and diabetes. After residency he followed his love of skiing and worked for two years in a medical ophthalmology clinic in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Morton works with all ages, and manages all chronic conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, uveitis, dry eye, and everything in-between. 

He comes to Missoula with his pup Sally Ride where he will continue to ski, run, hike, and of course play hockey.

Dr. Monica LaDouceur, OD brings a unique blend of experience and passion to ABC Children's Vision Specialists. After graduating from Pacific University College of Optometry Dr. LaDouceur honorably served in the United States Navy as an optometrist where she developed a strong sense of attention to detail, a quality that is reflected in the meticulous care provided to each patient.

As a parent of four children and a former middle school math teacher, Dr. LaDouceur understands the importance of children's vision and the impact it has on their overall development. Dr. LaDouceur is deeply invested in ensuring that every child receives the care and attention they need to thrive, both academically and personally.

Dr. LaDouceur has a passion for pediatric optometry and finds joy in working with children, ensuring their visual health and well-being from a young age. Now calling Phoenix home, Dr. LaDouceur is excited to bring her expertise and dedication to the local community. Outside of practicing optometry, Dr. LaDouceur enjoys spending time with her family and hiking with her three-legged dog Roo. As a transplant to Arizona, she appreciates hearing about upcoming events in the area, and special places to visit or hike in the Southwest.

Dr. Jeanette Stromme, OD attended Seattle University and graduated with a degree in General Science with a Pre-Profession Specialization.  She earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2005 at the Illinois College of Optometry where she made the dean’s list.

Dr. Stromme owned and operated a successful private optometry practice in Yakima for the 14 years, is an infantSee provider and is American Board of Optometry Certified in Retina. Dr. Stromme has been a member of Sunrise Rotary, received a Paul Harris fellow award and has also served as a board member for Comprehensive Mental Health. Dr. Stromme is a past president of the Yakima Society of Optometric Physicians and has served as a trustee for the American Optometric Association.

In her free time, she likes to boat, play with her 150lb Anatolian Shepherd (Zeus), and spend time with her awesome family.

Dr. Lotus Schifsky, OD also known as Dr. Lotus, is from Prescott, Wisconsin. She began her journey south by attending Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Her next stop in her southern migration was Bloomington, Indiana to attend Indiana University School of Optometry.

While there, she was a member of several honor societies including, Beta Sigma Kappa, Gold Key, and AOA+ Leadership. When not involved with leadership societies, Dr. Lotus spent time volunteering for various community outreach programs and assisting faculty as an associate instructor in various pediatric courses. She was recognized by faculty and peers for her dedication to pediatric care and awarded the COVD Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy.

After graduation, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky to complete her residency in pediatrics and vision therapy at Bowersox Vision Center. While there, her love and knowledge for pediatric care continued to grow as she worked with a variety of patients who had ocular conditions including amblyopia, strabismus, and binocular vision disorders.

Her final stop in her journey south is Phoenix, Arizona with ABC Children's Eye Specialists. She is beyond excited to continue working with pediatric patients to provide optimal care to all. When not in the clinic, Dr. Lotus loves to spend time exploring new places, lifting weights, socializing with friends, and curling up on the couch with a good book and her three cats.

Dr. Lois Filipelli, OD is an Arizona native — born and raised in the valley. She attended Grand Canyon University where she completed her Bachelor’s in Medical Biology. She went on to continue her education in the Pacific Northwest at Pacific University College of Optometry. After graduating with her doctorate of Optometry, she stayed in the Portland Metro area, where she worked in primary care optometry. 

Not long after graduating, she kickstarted a mobile medical eye clinic where she traveled to homes, group homes, care facilities, hospitals and more to provide customized care. For over 4 years, she served a majority of non-ambulatory, disabled, and geriatric populations.

With her deep understanding of medical eyecare, she is excited to bring that knowledge into the pediatric eye world. Dr. Filipelli is grateful to serve the community she grew up in and takes good care to treat each patient as her own child and involve each parent/caregiver in a respectful manner with thorough education. She speaks English, Romanian and Spanish.

Dr. Alexa Saul, OD is excited to provide comprehensive vision and medical exams at ABC Children’s Eye Specialists! She is an Arizona desert native from the North Phoenix area. Dr. Saul completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona in Tucson, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She continued her education at Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Saul enjoys providing vision care and education for the whole family. Her clinical experience includes ocular disease, primary care, strabismus and amblyopia management, specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses, and binocular vision disorders.

While completing her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience, Dr. Saul found herself fascinated with the role vision plays in daily life, and knew she wanted to become an Optometrist. In Tucson, she enjoyed being involved on campus and being a leader of an outreach program called the Arizona Retina Project. She organized the vision program at the annual Tucson Festival of Books, where she had the opportunity to teach children and their families about vision and how their eyes work! At Midwestern College of Optometry, she provided primary care in the pediatric clinic. She also worked with infants and children of all ages at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she developed skills in emergency care, routine vision and medical exams. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her 4 dogs. She also enjoys Pilates, hiking, and traveling.

Kristopher Sherrill, OD, is a highly qualified optometrist on the team at Rocky Mountain Eye Center at their Butte, Montana, office. He focuses on all facets of eye care, including treatment of eye diseases and specialty contact lens consultation.

Dr. Sherrill provides comprehensive services to keep eyes healthy, including general examinations, depth perception tests, contrast sensitivity solutions, visual acuity tests, among other assessments and treatment options. He is currently taking patients at the Butte, Montana, office.

Dr. Sherrill earned bachelor’s degrees in physics and mathematics from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Optometry degree with honors from the university’s College of Optometry, also in Forest Grove. He then went on to practice in Spokane, Washington.

After some time away from Montana, he returned to his hometown of Butte to continue his optometric practice at Rocky Mountain Eye Center.

Dr. Zyrina earned her master’s degree from Ural State Pedagogical University and pursued her optometry degree at Salus University in Pennsylvania. She further honed her skills through an internship at Wills Eye Hospital and a residency in ocular disease at the VA Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Before establishing Pine Vision Care, Dr. Zyrina gained invaluable experience working in various private practices. Her extensive background ensures that patients receive the highest quality care, tailored to their unique needs.

Pete Babcock, OD, is a skilled optometrist on the team of accomplished doctors at Rocky Mountain Eye Center. He is currently treating patients in Missoula, though his passion for extending eye care to others has taken him to many parts of the world.

Dr. Babcock provides comprehensive vision care, including the treatment of eye diseases and consultations for specialty contact lenses. He offers precision, expertise, and compassion for each and every patient.

Dr. Babcock’s desire to help others and his sense of adventure have led him to volunteer clinics across the globe. He has worked at Gift of Sight clinics in Mexico and Thailand, Medical Wings International in Honduras and Peru, Project Vision for Ukraine, and OneSite in India. He has also volunteered his expertise at the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity in Peru, the Philippines, Thailand, Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Chile.

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor of Science degree in vision, Dr. Babcock later joined the team at Rocky Mountain Eye Center in 2008.

Daniel Larsen, OD, is the director of optometry at Rocky Mountain Eye Center. His specialties include comprehensive eye care and treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Larsen is currently treating patients at the Missoula, Montana, office.

After graduating with honors from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science, he earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to join the team at Rocky Mountain Eye Center in 1993.

Previously, Dr. Larsen was the director of the contact lens clinic at the center. He has conducted research on the proper fit of contact lenses and is a specialist in a variety of lenses, as well as dry eye treatments.  

When he isn’t in the office, Dr. Larsen enjoys skiing, scuba diving, mountain biking, and fishing.

Nichole Rioux, OD, is an experienced optometrist with the team at Rocky Mountain Eye Center. Dr. Rioux sees patients at the practice's office in Helena, Montana. 

Dr. Rioux received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, in 2007. Dr. Rioux established her own distinguished optometric practice, at one time having three locations to serve her patients in the state of Oregon. In 2018, Dr. Rioux returned home to Montana to provide that same extraordinary eye care to the Helena area by joining the team at Rocky Mountain Eye Center.

Dr. Rioux provides all the comprehensive vision examinations for the Helena Eye Clinic and is experienced in fitting various types of contact lenses. She also provides management of numerous eye conditions, including cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, dry eyes, and many others.
