Orthopedic surgeon Austin Yeargan III, MD, specializes in regenerative and sports medicine at his practice, Carolina Joint and Arthritis, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Dr. Yeargan continued to pursue his medical education, completing a Steadman Hawkins sports medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Colorado. While at the Steadman Clinic, he focused on adult shoulder, elbow, hand, and knee construction.
He also finished a fellowship in regenerative medicine with Dan Eglinton, MD, at the Asheville Biologics and Orthopedics Clinic in Asheville, North Carolina. During this fellowship, he gained expertise in the techniques and applications of molecular and cellular therapeutics in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Yeargan leads an active lifestyle when he’s not helping patients or learning new signaling pathways. He enjoys sailing, surfing, and other water sports and works with USA Boxing. He also devotes time to playing musical instruments.
