He then spent two years focusing on psychology by working at Charter Midtown Psychiatric facility and answering crisis calls on a suicide hotline. In 2000, he entered medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Upon graduation in 2004, Dr. Mitchell started a yearlong internship in Internal Medicine at St. John’s hospital, also located in Detroit, where he learned the fundamentals of many medical fields.

Dr. Amir Rafizad is a skilled, compassionate pain management specialist offering state-of-the-art care for the relief of acute and chronic pain in patients throughout the Irvine and Fountain Valley, CA regions. At Pain Care Providers, Dr. Rafizad offers individualized care for neck pain, back and spine pain, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, and neuropathy, including noninvasive pain management solutions to address underlying causes of pain.
Dr. Rafizad completed his internship and residency at John H Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County followed by a fellowship in pain management at UCLA Medical Center. As a pain management specialist, Dr. Rafizad is board certified in both pain medicine and anesthesiology. In addition to caring for patients at Pain Care Providers, he also treats patients at the West Los Angeles Veterans Medical Center where he serves as attending staff physician for pain management and anesthesiology.
Dr. Rafizad is committed to providing patients with individualized care based on each patient’s unique needs for long-term, meaningful relief of pain. He welcomes the opportunity to care for new patients, and the practice accepts most major medical insurance plans.
Dr. Bogdan Anghel was born in Bucharest, Romania, where he earned his medical degree from “Carol Davila” University Medical School. He completed his surgical residencies at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York, NY, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. His training concluded with a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
With twenty-six years of experience, Dr. Anghel specializes in the management of painful spine and musculoskeletal disorders. He has a particular interest in interventional procedures such as epidural steroid injections, spine and peripheral joint injections, peripheral radiofrequency neurolysis, and spinal cord stimulator trials.
Dr. Anghel is board certified and re-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as in Pain Medicine. He is proficient in Romanian, Spanish, and German. Currently residing in Show Low, AZ, Dr. Anghel leads an active lifestyle that includes running, hiking, and weightlifting. He is an avid reader of non-fiction and enjoys playing chess.
