Dr. Jyotsna Thapar, DPM, has practiced podiatric medicine at Ankle & Foot Specialist of N.J. since 2008. Dr. Jay Bhuta, DPM, is a podiatric surgical expert at Ankle & Foot Doctors of New Jersey located in Millburn and Livingston of New Jersey. Aamir Ahmed, DPM, is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible foot and ankle surgeon with extensive training in reconstructive surgery. He currently sees patients at Ankle & Foot Doctors of New Jersey in Millburn, Westfield, and Union, New Jersey.

Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine after graduating cum laude with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He completed his three-year surgical residency at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey, where he gained surgical experience in adult foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, arthritic joints, Achilles tendon reconstruction, arthroscopy, Charcot neuroarthropathy, and diabetic limb salvage, with advanced training techniques in wound care.

The following year, Dr. Ahmed went on to complete a pediatric foot and ankle fellowship at The Pediatric Orthopedic Center in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, under the mentorships of Dr. Mark Solomon and Dr. Mark Rieger. There, he gained experience treating children with foot and ankle congenital deformities, sprains, fractures, growth plate injuries, as well as sports and dance injuries. About Dr. Wachtler

Matthew F. Wachtler, DPM, FACFAS, is a skilled podiatrist at Cedar Grove Foot & Ankle Specialists. He provides comprehensive foot and ankle care to patients in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Dr. Wachtler graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then went on to receive his medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. 

After completing his medical education, Dr. Wachtler was trained in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at Morristown Medical Center of the Atlantic Health System. During his residency, he was elected chief resident and was extensively trained in both clinical and surgical complex foot and ankle pathologies. Dr. Alyssa Aquilino received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University at Albany and went on to complete a Master of Science Program in Biological and Physical Sciences at Touro College. She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Aquilino completed her three-year surgical residency training at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in New York City. During her residency, she received extensive training in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery, including diabetic foot care, wound management, biomechanics, sports-related injuries, and routine foot and ankle conditions.

Dr. Rivera completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. After graduating with her degree, she went on to complete her doctorate in podiatric medicine at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her post-graduate training through a dual-residency program in podiatric medicine and surgery at Cabrini Medical Center.
