Alan Berman, DPM, FACFAS, is a podiatrist at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He provides comprehensive foot and ankle care to patients at the practice’s locations in Mount Kisco, Fishkill, Newburgh, and Carmel, New York, and Danbury, Connecticut.

Dr. Berman earned his medical degree in 1984 from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and has served Putnam County residents in his private podiatry practice for over 25 years.

He is a member in good standing of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Berman is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. This dual board certification allows Dr. Berman's patients to comfortably choose either surgical care or state-of-the-art non-surgical care. Dr. Mariola Rivera attended undergraduate school at University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. She went to medical school with a Doctor in Podiatric Medicine degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine.  Her post-graduate surgical training was completed at Bellevue Hospital, a number one trauma center in New York city.

Dr. Rivera received an challenging training in medicine and surgery from patients from all over the world. Dr. Rivera has services New York city and Westchester patients and athletes after obtaining her residency training.  Dr. Rivera is a board certified physician and Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric medicine. She is also member of The American Podiatric Medical Association and New York State Podiatric Medical Association. Lisa Shah, DPM, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon at Aesthetic Podiatry & Sports Medicine Center in White Plains and Purchase, New York. 

Dr. Shah attended Syracuse University for her undergraduate education. After graduating with her degree, she went on to complete her doctorate in podiatric medicine at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her post-graduate training through a dual-residency program in podiatric medicine and surgery at Cabrini Medical Center. 

During her final year of residency, Dr. Shah was a chief surgical resident. She had extensive training in all aspects of podiatry. 

While serving patients at Aesthetic Podiatry & Sports Medicine Center, she is currently on staff at Gramercy Surgery Center and Mount Sinai Beth Israel. In addition, she enjoys giving back to the local community by participating in health clinics sponsored by The Gujarati Association of Connecticut. 

Dr. Shah is a member of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association as well as the American Podiatric Medical Association. Passionate about continuing education, she maintains ongoing training to keep on top of the newest innovations and trends in podiatric care. Dr Nancy Moskowitz provides compassionate, comprehensive foot and ankle care for patients of all ages, including children, adults and seniors. The practice focuses on preventative care, early diagnosis, and effective treatment of common and complex conditions. Services include routine footcare, treatment of heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, ingrown toenails, fungal nails, and sports-related injuries.Dr. Moskowitz also provides care for chronic conditions such as neuropathy, wounds and circulation related foot issues. The office offers a welcoming , family-friendly environment with efficient visits and personal care.

Through active listening and thoughtful questioning I try to provide quality compassionate care that takes the patient's life circumstances into account to create a treatment plan that has the greatest chance for success. Dr. Cella is an accomplished surgeon who is committed to treating podiatric medical conditions of the Foot and Ankle in both adults and pediatric patients. Her vast experience ranges from sports injuries and disorders in children, to the management of problems with older feet and patients with disabilities. She is double board certified and a Fellow of both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. She has hospital affiliations with Hackensack University Medical Center and Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. When out of the office, Dr. Cella enjoys spending quality time with her husband, two children and the master of the house, their dog Bauer. Dr. Kyle Yi is a fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon who specializes in trauma and reconstructive surgery.  He is proud to serve patients at Foot & Ankle Premier Specialists, with locations in Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, West New York, Ridgefield & Bloomfield, NJ. 

He graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and continued his education at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, where he obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). 

Dr. Yi then began his surgical training at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.  He was selected to serve as Chief Resident during his final year and graduated with credentials from the Council of Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) to perform reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.  In addition to surgery, he also received training in sports medicine, arthroscopy, plastic surgery, wound care and general foot care.

To further his surgical training, he spent an additional year completing a fellowship, accredited by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), in trauma and reconstructive surgery at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.  Dr. Yi received extensive training with cutting edge technology including total ankle replacements and use of custom 3D implants in foot and ankle surgery.  

Throughout his training, Dr Yi has authored and co-authored articles and research publications focusing on ankle fractures, ankle instability, and diabetic neuropathy, with his most recent regarding a total calcaneus replacement with a custom 3D printed metallic implant.  

When he is not serving patients, Dr. Yi enjoys cooking, traveling, golfing, watching TV/movies and spending time with his friends and family.

After graduating in 2008 from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey, with a  Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Paternina enrolled in Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. In 2014, she graduated in the top 5% of her class and completed her residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a Level II trauma center. 

During her time as a resident, Dr. Paternina received comprehensive training in reconstructive surgery of complex foot and ankle deformities, including foot and ankle joint replacement, flatfoot, trauma, limb salvage, and advanced training techniques in treating difficult wounds. Her surgical abilities were so impressive that she earned the title of chief resident during her final year.

In addition to her surgical abilities, Dr. Paternina’s areas of expertise include pediatrics, sports medicine, arthroscopy, cartilage transplantation, plastic surgery, dermatology, and general foot care. She is passionate about education and has devoted her time to lectures and medical studies, both nationally and internationally. Jonathan Shalot, DPM, FACFAS, is a skilled foot and ankle surgeon at Foot & Ankle Premier Specialists, with locations in Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, West New York, Ridgefield, & Bloomfield, NJ. 

Dr. Shalot graduated from Long Island's distinguished Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Minor in Chemistry. He obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. 

During his time in podiatry school, Dr. Shalot served as president of the Student Chapter of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and as president of the NYCPM Student Organization. He completed a three-year Foot and Ankle Surgery residency program at the prestigious Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. He was elected Chief Resident during his last year. Dr. Shalot graduated with honors from the program in May 2023, specializing in forefoot surgery, rearfoot surgery, trauma, and ankle surgery.

During his time at NYCPM and Montefiore, Dr. Shalot has authored and co-authored articles and research publications, most focusing on his interest in the Role of anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (AITFL) repairs in Chronic Ankle Instability.   

Dr. Shalot is certified in CPR and also served as a lifeguard. His interests include sports medicine, biomechanics of the foot and ankle, treating athletes, and assessing patients for orthotic therapy. He enjoys playing the guitar, working out, and swimming in his spare time.

Dr. Raina graduated from the prestigious four-year podiatric residency at New York Presbyterian-Queens in Flushing, New York.

Board-certified podiatrist, Rolando Melendez, DPM brings more than a decade of experience in podiatry and foot and ankle surgery to New York City Ankle & Foot. He serves men, women, and families at two convenient locations in Jackson Heights and Woodside Queens. 

Dr. Melendez began his professional education at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in industrial microbiology. He subsequently moved to the United States and enrolled at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. 

Following graduation, Dr. Melendez accepted a residency position at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. As a resident, Dr. Melendez trained extensively in all aspects of foot and ankle medicine and surgery. He also completed a Master’s Degree in medical education at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before entering private practice, Dr. Melendez also served as a medical volunteer in Latin America on various mission trips.

Stephen Lazaroff, DPM, FACFAS, at Performance Foot & Ankle Specialists, LLC, with two convenient locations in Waterbury and Newtown, Connecticut, treats children, teens, and adults with every type of foot and ankle problem.
