Nurse Sarah and nurse anesthetist Erika were both professional and very pleasant. Dr. Riegel checked in with me beforehand to make sure I was good and to answer any questions. He was thorough ( reviewed every detail of my medical history record), thoughtful (listened attentively to our questions and concerns), professional (prescribed a procedure and explained his rationale as well as the details of the procedure), compassionate (reassured us about the expected outcome). He spent some time getting to know us and he also shared some personal background so that we felt like friends instead of merely being a patient. Our team is highly-trained in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and liver disease. While we work closely together as a group; each patient is cared for by a dedicated gastroenterologist --- building trust, continuity, and long-lasting relationships.  And because your health can't always wait, a Gateway gastroenterologist is available for emergencies whenever you need us. 

In addition to patient care at our main office in Chesterfield, we also perform colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures at Gateway Endoscopy Center (Saint Louis), SCOPES (Des Peres), Saint Louis Multi-Specialty Surgery Center (Ballwin), and St Luke’s Hospital (Chesterfield). Our office also offers convenient on-site diagnostic tests like capsule endoscopies, breath testing, and infusion services. For added flexibility, ask about our Saturday hours at Gateway Endoscopy Center for routine procedures at Gateway Endoscopy Center.
