Maria Flick is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice and Psychiatric/Mental Health. She has been in the medical field for more than 24 years, starting in the military as an Air Evacuation Medic, then transitioning to work as a civilian in a trauma center. Ms. Flick desired to pursue her educational goals, as well as gaining experience as a front-line health care worker, and graduated with honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in 2014. She has worked in the specialty areas of hematology and oncology as well as working with a large population of active-duty and retired military personnel and their dependents. More recently, she returned to Liberty University to earn a Post- Masters Certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health, graduating with honors in 2021. Ms. Flick approaches patient care with compassion and a passion to improve the lives of those entrusted to her care, using a lifetime of experience and a wealth of healthcare knowledge.
Ms. Antwi has over 7 years’ experience in nursing that include medical surgical, correctional and psychiatric/mental health nursing. Her psychiatric experience includes providing services in psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient populations and with incarcerated individuals. This work has helped her to develop her perspective on the challenges individual face, and how she can best engage patients/ clients in wellness care. Ms. Antwi attended the University of Rhode Island where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later attended Walden University for her Master of Science in Nursing and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her goal is to encourage each patient to take care of their mental health by discussing it in a way that eliminates the stigma attached to seeking help. Dr. Amir Etesam, MD, is a Johns Hopkins-trained Psychiatrist at Bright Horizons Psychiatry in North Bethesda, Maryland.
After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Etesam chose to focus his career on mood and anxiety disorders. He is a member of the well-respected Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), the only medical honor society in the world.
