“For some reason I thought I had an appointment with Neurologist Dr. Patel. His qualifications were impressive on the website. When I arrived I was told that Dr. Patel was in New York not in Boca Raton. I was told that I would see Sharit Sigalit. I asked if she was a neurologist and was told yes. I explained to Dr. Sigalit that my right hand occasionally shakes involuntarily. I was given nerve tests and a cap on my head test. I was then told I had to get a Brain DaTscan never being told what the current tests I took revealed or what the Brain DaTscan was for. When I came home I looked up Dr. Shavit was not a neurologist but a nurse. I check with Rayus who was recommended to do the Brain DaTscan and was told it involved at least 40 minutes flat on my back. I explained that if I am in that position it is extremely painful for me and I could not stay still as required so I do not want to take it unless I can be in a sitting position. The representative said that was the only way I could do it. Since I have done research and learned the result would not be certain. So I will not take the test.
I have an appointment with the nurse for April 13th at 1:30 pm which now I wish to cancel. I also request that the results of the tests done be sent to me..

Frederick S. Starr, MD, FAACAP, is a computational neuroscientist who has been active in the fields of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) and neurofeedback since 1990. He sees patients at Myneurva Brain Centers in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Dr. Starr formally began integrating neurofeedback into clinical practice in 2003 and went on to pioneer large-scale Remote Neurofeedback in 2006, expanding access to innovative brain-based therapies well before telehealth became mainstream. After Anna’s tragic passing from a fatal seizure in 2008, he embarked on a profound personal journey that took him from northern Maine to Hawaii, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. These experiences broadened his understanding of the global burden of mental illness and strengthened his resolve to develop more accessible, effective solutions.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Starr has been recognized as one of the “Fifty Pioneers in Neurofeedback” by peers in the field for his role in innovating remote neurofeedback delivery.
Dr. Starr earned his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed postgraduate training at Columbia University, Boston University Medical Center (Adult Psychiatry), and Vanderbilt University (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Chief Fellow).
Dr. Starr lives in New Jersey with his wife and three daughters. An avid ocean sports enthusiast, he enjoys sharing his love of the sea with his family. He also speaks Spanish, studies Mandarin, and has a deep interest in international cuisine and ancient history.
