My treatment philosophy emphasizes a whole-person approach. While medication can be an important tool, I also incorporate therapy, lifestyle strategies, and wellness supports into treatment planning. I take time to build meaningful rapport, understand the unique challenges my patients face, and create tailored care plans that support both immediate relief and long-term growth. Dr. Onigu-Otite (Dr. Otite) is a triple-board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in Child, Adolescent, Addiction, and Adult Psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria; completed her General Psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston; and advanced fellowships in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Dr. Otite previously served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University and Medical Director of the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is now a Full Professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Otite is known for her specialized care for complex ADHD, severe mood and behavioral disorders, trauma-related conditions, and addictive behaviors in children and adolescents, and integrates motivational interviewing to support mental and physical well-being.
Richard Young, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC is an experienced psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Lifespan Psychiatry & Wellness Center in Houston, Texas. Dedicated to serving his patients and aiming to provide the highest standard of mental health care, Richard is known for delivering care with excellence and integrity.
Richard has over 25 years of staff Registered Nursing experience spanning nephrology, psychiatry, intensive care, education, information technology, and skilled nursing. He also has over 5 years of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing practice experience and 7years of Family Nursing practice experience in outpatient clinics and correctional facilities.
Dr. Young received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1993. He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Frontier Nursing University (Versailles, KY) in 2013 and began working as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
In 2020, Richard completed a Post Masters Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice at FNU and opened Lifespan Psychiatry and Wellness Center with Vivian Young, PMHNP. Richard graduated with his Doctor of Nursing Practice from FNU in 2024.
Taking an evidence-based and comprehensive approach to care, Dr. Young leads with medication management and provides combined support therapy. He specializes in assisting patients with different mental disorders, including anxiety, ADHD, Autism, depression, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, Schizophrenia, and dementia.
Dr. Young typically sees patients later in the afternoon and early evening, around 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. He warmly welcomes all patients to the Lifespan Psychiatry & Wellness Center and looks forward to caring for them across their lifespan.
Priti Palvadi, MD, is a neurologist at Houston Neurological Institute in Pasadena and Pearland, Texas.
Dr. Priti Palvadi attended Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India. She then completed her neurology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. She then worked as Assistant Professor at the Little Rock VA hospital as a general neurologist for seven years.
Following that, she completed her clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, specializing in diagnostic sleep medicine, EMG, and EEG. She practiced in Baytown and also trained in sleep medicine during this period.
Dr. Palvadi is board-certified by the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult neurology and in sleep medicine. Dr. Palvadi provides neurological consultation for patients with a wide variety of neurological disorders including epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, migraines, dementia, neuropathies, and sleep disorders.
After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with Honors, Dr. Kamayani Khare went on to medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed her intern year and neurology residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. During her neurology residency, she served as a Chief Neurology Resident. She went on to complete 2 years of neurophysiology fellowship (focus in Epilepsy) at University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston and Houston Methodist Hospital, respectively.
After fellowship, Dr. Khare practiced general neurology (with interest in epilepsy) in private practice at Kelsey Seybold clinic and CHI/Baylor ST Luke’s Medical Center for 9+ years. She further expanded her clinical expertise and worked as a Neurohospitalist at UTHealth-The University of Texas Health Sciences Center. Her practice involved providing acute neurological care via Teleneurology to community hospitals and education for medical students and residents.
Dr. Khare is board certified by the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult neurology. As a general neurologist with a focus in epilepsy, she provides neurological consultations for patients with a wide variety of neurological disorders and is focused on education for the patient and their family members. This includes epilepsy (with extensive counseling including family members & including but not limited to patients planning pregnancy/during pregnancy), stroke/TIA, dementia syndromes (with extensive counseling/education for patients & family members), other cognitive/memory disorders, neck/back pain, tremor syndromes, neuropathy, headaches, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.

Following graduation, Dr. Oommen completed a two-year residency in pediatrics and a combined three-year residency in adult and child neurology at the University of Texas at Houston in 2021. Upon completion, he pursued two years of fellowship training in epilepsy and surgical epilepsy planning.
Outside of work, Dr. Oommen enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn son, staying active by competing in various sports, and supporting his hometown teams.

Funmi Akinrimisi is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at Texas Tech University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University. Before working in the NP role, Funmi has several years of experience in medical-surgical /Pediatric but specifically 10 years of experience in geriatric, adult, and child Psychiatry nursing.
Her passion for psychiatry nursing led her to pursue her master's in Psychiatry Nursing. Funmi believes in a holistic approach towards treatment and aims to address contributing factors leading to less than optimal life quality for her patients. She finds it important to explore both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods while also incorporating good physical health and lifestyle changes. She has a special interest in treating mental disorder populations and reducing the stigma related to mental health.

Dr. St. John has been in private practice in West Houston/Memorial since 2006. She treats adults ages 18 and up for a broad range of disorders including: ADHD, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety, major depression, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and OCD. Her areas of specific interest include ADD/ADHD and treatment resistant depression.
Dr. St. John is one of few psychiatrists in Houston performing Transcranial Magnetic Therapy (TMS) for patients with treatment refractory depression. She adopted TMS into her practice in 2013 and has performed over 2,500 treatments.
Dr. St. John is also one of a few psychiatrists in Texas to utilize the FDA-cleared, computer-based QbTest to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of her ADD/ADHD patients.

Lauren D. Weaver, M.D. is a board-certified child neurologist at THINK Neurology for Kids in Katy, Texas. With additional training in epilepsy, Dr. Weaver specializes in interpreting EEGs (brain wave studies) in children with known or suspected seizures and collaborates with the other providers at THINK Neurology for Kids to manage and treat childhood epilepsy.
Dr. Weaver completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, followed by a combined residency training in pediatrics and child neurology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She later moved up to New York City for a fellowship in pediatric epilepsy at Columbia University. She has research experience in the study of malformations of cortical development and genetic epilepsies.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Dr. Weaver currently resides in Houston, Texas, with her husband and son. Prior to joining the THINK Neurology for Kids team in 2019, she was an assistant professor of neurology in the Departments of Child Neurology and Pediatric Epilepsy at Columbia University. While there, she treated patients in both the hospital and clinic settings, with additional responsibilities devoted to resident and medical student education.
