I attended UMDNJ, New Jersey Medical School where I received my medical degree, completed residency training in General Psychiatry, and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. After graduating, I decided to stay within the same organization working as one of the head psychiatrists for a Partial Hospitalization Program. Aside from treating adults and adolescents I also have experience working with young children who benefited from treatment within a Therapeutic Learning Center.
As I continued to expand my horizons within the field of Psychiatry, my family and I decided to relocate to the Sunshine state. Since my relocation, I have been working within the private sector with children, adolescents, and adult patients.
I favor an inclusive and collaborative approach. I believe in cautious prescribing based on evidence. I strive to provide good quality care that includes patients’ opinions and concerns.
I’ve always been interested in people and their individual stories. This curiosity coupled with my love of science made my career choice quite easy. I grew up between Cairo, Egypt and New York City. After completing medical school at Ain Shams University in Cairo, I moved to Chicago for my psychiatry residency program at Rosalind Franklin University which was a great launching pad for my career in Psychiatry.
I am a Board Certified adult psychiatrist with varied experiences in both inpatient and outpatient practice. I am especially interested in pharmacologically challenging cases and handling co-morbidities. I am comfortable with the geriatric population and love to provide supportive therapy as well since psychiatry should never only be about the prescription.
I have lived in Florida since 2009 and surrounding by a large extended family with whom I love to spend time and celebrate life.

I am a bilingual Nurse Practitioner who was born in New York and raised in south Florida. I knew from an early age that nursing was a passion of mine. I received my bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2015. I completed a Master’s of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner specialty, at Florida Atlantic University. I have worked in a variety of settings throughout my nursing career providing quality and evidence-based care to all my patients.
After working the frontline throughout the COVID pandemic and seeing firsthand the mental health crisis, I decided to pursue a career in psychiatry/mental health. I believe in fostering a safe, therapeutic environment where individual relationships can form and grow. I strive to provide personal care to my patients in order for them to achieve their optimal mental and physical health. Dr. Jimmy Lafaille, DNP, graduated from the prestigious University of Miami (UM) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and a post graduate certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). She also achieved a post master’s certificate as a family nurse practitioner (FNP) at Barry University and obtained a master’s degree in nursing science from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). She completed her undergraduate studies in New York. She received accolades while she was a doctoral student at the University of Miami (UM) when she was one of the few chosen for the Vitas Fellow Scholarship Award as well as the Aryn Rothfield Memorial Scholarship Award. In 2017, she was inducted in the Sigma Theta Tau by the University of Miami International Honors Society Chapter. She has worked in clinical practice for over 20 years. She has also worked as a contributing faculty member for various graduate programs. She has dual board certification as an FNP and PMHNP.

As a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with expertise in both medication management and psychotherapy, I can help patients develop a treatment plan that meets their needs. My style is guided by warmth and flexibility, with the goals of helping patients build insight and reduce symptoms.
I create individualized treatment plans, assessing patients' goals, unique life experiences, and biological risk factors. While medication is useful in some cases, I am dedicated to helping my patients achieve lasting change through therapy as well.
