Dr. Gopal graduated from the MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, also in Philadelphia. Dr. Gopal recently finished an accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, a premier women’s health program.

He has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for the investigation of geriatric epidemiology and completed a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania. Nicola Pemberton, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and the medical director of The Birth Center of New Jersey in West Union, New Jersey. A recognized leader in women’s health, Dr. Pemberton is passionate about helping women experience safe, empowering, and minimally invasive births.

Dr. Sangeeta Ramani, MD, FACOG is a board-certified Ob/Gyn who specializes in gynecologic surgery. After graduating with an honors degree in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Ramani earned her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at
Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. Dr. Ramani’s philosophy is to provide comprehensive and compassionate care while empowering her patients to prioritize their health and well-being. Paul Matta, DO, brings a wealth of experience and skills to his role as the medical director and CEO at Advanced Perinatal Associates in Manalapan and Little Silver, New Jersey. 

Dr. Matta and his experienced team offer personalized experiences for patients who visit for preconception counseling, pregnancy-related complications, and prenatal diagnosis. Sagar Patel, MD, OBGYN has obstetrics and gynecology in his genes. Born and raised in New Jersey as the son of a well-respected OBGYN, Dr. Patel now offers board-certified obstetric and gynecological services to all women in Monmouth County and surrounding areas at his private practice in Holmdel, New Jersey.

A true Jersey boy, Dr. Patel completed his entire medical training at some of the Garden State's most distinguished academic institutions. After graduating with distinction from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science, Dr. Patel finished his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Dr. Khalil began her premedical and graduate medical education at Cairo University’s School of Medicine in Egypt where she obtained her bachelor’s of medicine and surgery degrees. Board-certified OB/GYN Michael Straker, MD, currently practices general obstetrics and gynecology at Bestcare OB/GYN, in Nutley, New Jersey, with an emphasis on minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

Dr. Straker grew up in West Hempstead on Long Island, New York, and graduated Salutatorian of the class of 1991 at Long Island Lutheran High School. He is a 1995 graduate of Johns Hopkins University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He earned his medical degree in 1999 at Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the City University of New York, where he served as a Teaching Assistant in Anatomy and served as the Region IX Director of the Student National Medical Association. In 2003, he completed his residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, where he was the first African American to graduate the program. 

He maintains admitting privileges at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville and St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Additionally, Dr. Straker has been serving as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Clara Maass since 2009 and previously served as the Co-Chair of the minimally invasive surgical steering committee.

Dr. Straker is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey and is certified in numerous areas including minimally invasive da Vinci Robotic Surgery. Dr. Straker loves to cook and keeps his smoker active year round. He lives in West Orange with his wife Jamelle, and his two sons Eric and Jay.

Huiying Hou, MD, has been practicing as an OB/GYN at Jersey Women’s Care Center in Fair Lawn and Jersey City, New Jersey, since 2015. She was selected to work as an OB/GYN at Jersey Women’s Care Center from the highly prestigious Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at the Cleveland Clinic, ending her fourth year in residency in 2015.

Setting out on her path to becoming an OB/GYN, Dr. Hou started her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, and graduated with a biology/pre-med degree in 2006. From there, she went on to earn her doctor of medicine degree at MSHMC Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, in 2011.

Dr. Hou has given award-winning published presentations on subjects ranging from laparoscopic hysterectomy to endometrial cancer and bilateral salpingectomy.

Dr. Ramirez completed her higher education upon graduating from Universidad Central del Este, in the Dominican Republic, in 1993. From there, she emigrated to the United States and began her surgical fellowship at North Shore University Hospital, affiliated with Hofstra University, located in Manhasset, New York. I graduated from the Midwifery Program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Prior to becoming a midwife, I was an Ob/Gyn sonographer. Upon graduation from Downstate, I received multiple awards for dedication and perseverance to the Midwifery Program. I worked for a very busy private Ob Gyn practice in the last three years and will continue to be determined and dedicated to keeping the well-being of women, their babies and family members foremost in my mind.

Dr. Kakossian graduated Medical School with Honors and Distinction in 1991. She completed an exchange fellowship program at Columbia University, NY in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She graduated as Chief resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Lutheran Medical Center, NY.

Dr. Kakossian has done extensive research in Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery for different gynecologic conditions and produced many publications in this field. She was trained by and operated with the professor and founder of Laparoscopic Surgery Dr. H. Reich at Columbia University, NY. She lectured at International Conferences of Gynecologic Surgeons in Las Vegas, Miami, Montreal, and Atlanta and demonstrated the latest advances in Laparoscopic surgery in Moscow, Russia.
