While at MHUMC, Dr. Burke-Bray earned her place as a scholar in the Resident to Faculty Leadership Development Program. Born and raised in Wales, United Kingdom, Dr. O’Heron emigrated to Canada to pursue higher education. After completing her undergraduate degree in dance and visual arts, she earned a degree in education. She went on to work with autistic children in the field of special education and helped create a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation program for parents of autistic preschoolers.
Feeling drawn toward medicine, Dr. O’Heron proceeded to earn her medical degree at McMaster University in Ontario, where she specialized in maternal and child health. She went on to complete a fellowship in high-risk surgical obstetrics.
Dr. O’Heron practiced OB/GYN and pediatrics while teaching at McMaster University until the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston recruited her to teach primary care obstetrics. While in Texas, she worked in an underserved area and specialized in evaluating cases of child abuse. Then, she moved to Peachtree City, Georgia to teach full time at Emory University.
In 1999, Dr. O’Heron opened Lifeboat Medical Associates, where she proudly continues to serve her community as a skilled OB/GYN and pediatrician. Although a native to West Virginia, Matthew Ralsten, MD, is no stranger to the Atlanta metropolitan area. He first completed his undergraduate education at the Georgia Institute of Technology before returning to his home state for medical school at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington.
Dr. Ralsten went on to complete his internship at West Virginia University, where he was recognized as an outstanding teaching resident. He finished his full residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center, a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill community program.

As of July 1, 2023, Dr. William Cook decided to focus his practice on gynecology and gynecologic surgery only. As a result, WSF expanded, adding a satellite office at 403 Westpark Court in Peachtree City. The new location provides a more convenient and efficient way for Dr Cook to continue his gynecology only practice. He still performs all his surgeries at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
Dr. Cook has remained at the cutting edge of gynecologic care. He was an early adopter of minimally invasive surgery. Most of his surgeries are done through a single belly button incision and his patients go home the same day. Dr. Cook also has extensive experience with pelvic prolapse repair surgery and urogynecology surgery such as bladder slings for urinary leakage.
Not every problem needs or even has a surgical solution. There are many medical options, both prescriptive and holistic, that are very useful in women’s health. Dr. Cook want to make sure that his patients are aware of all their options. In 1989, after completing medical school at the University of Michigan and residency in Ob/Gyn at the University of Chicago, he joined the staff at Piedmont Hospital. He has held many leadership roles within the Piedmont system, including being the first elected President of the Medical staff at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hospital from 2003-2006 when the hospital decided to offer maternity services. He founded his group, the Women’s Specialists of Fayette in order to provide the highest level of obstetrical care for the citizens of Fayette County and southern Metro Atlanta. After delivering over 5000 babies, he is happy to get sleep every night.
Dr. Cook and his wife, Pat, have been married since 1985. They have lived in Peachtree City since 1995. They have 3 grown children and two grandchildren.
