About Us

Carlos Uquillas, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric sports medicine as well as arthroscopy. He serves patients across Southern California and Los Angeles at his offices in Pasadena, Westchester, and Anaheim in Orange County, California.

Dr. Uquillas received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine, where he had a scholarly concentration in clinical research and received a Leland Stanford Junior University Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award. Tae Shin, MD, is a double board-certified orthopedic surgeon, bringing years of experience in spine surgery and general orthopedics to Los Angeles Orthopaedic Center, serving adults and teens living in and around Downtown Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Shin earned his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He subsequently completed an internship and an orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York.

Marc Samson, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon practicing at Los Angeles Orthopaedic Center located in Downtown Los Angeles. His mission is to provide exceptional orthopaedic care to individuals living in and around Los Angeles, California. 

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Samson completed his undergraduate education at the University of California Berkeley, where he majored in biology and graduated with honors. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California Irvine. Dr. Samson completed his surgical internship at New York Medical College and his orthopaedic surgery residency training at New York Medical College and Boston University. In 1997, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University.

Well-versed in the field of sports medicine, Dr. Samson has served as a team physician for numerous high school, collegiate, and professional sports teams, including Stanford University, Boston University, the University of Massachusetts, and the NFL's San Francisco 49'ers.

Samer Alnajjar, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. He specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgeries and offers plastic surgery consultations at his office.

Dr. Alnajjar earned his Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Master of Public Health and Administration at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, before traveling to Grenada to earn his medical degree at St. George University Medical School. 

He returned to Wayne State University for his general surgery residency and went on to complete two fellowships. Brian Solberg, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and the founder of LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Dr. Solberg specializes in the treatment and management of complex fractures, including those of the pelvic ring and acetabulum, nun-unions, and malunions. He dedicates himself to help patients recover from acute injuries or chronic pain through compassionate care.

Dr. Solberg earned his Bachelor of Science in chemistry with honors at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. He earned his Doctor of Medicine with honors at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and went on to complete a surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale University School of Medicine, Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. 

Dr. Solberg continued his education with an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the University of California, Davis, focusing on complex fracture management, pelvic, and acetabular trauma, and care of multiply injured patients.

Dr. Solberg is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, California Orthopaedic Association, Western Orthopaedic Association, and the Yale Orthopaedic Association. He is also a member of the AO North America faculty, where he presents educational presentations. 

Dr. Solberg has published in several industry publications, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research. His research interests include biomechanics fixed-angle plating techniques and the treatment of osteoporotic fractures and clinical outcomes of proximal humerus fractures in osteoporotic bone.

Reginald Alexander, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at LA Orthopaedic Specialists in Downtown Los Angeles, California. He is passionate about helping athletes heal and specializes in the treatment of sports injuries, including rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, femoral acetabular impingement (FAI), ACL reconstruction, and cartilage preservation.

Dr. Alexander earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at Howard University in Washington, DC, before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from the Howard University College of Medicine. Eric S. Millstein, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, is a leading expert in advanced arthroscopic techniques for knee and shoulder surgery. Dr. Kristofer J. Jones is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports-related musculoskeletal injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow. As a former intercollegiate athlete, Dr. Jones understands the unique demands and concerns faced by athletes at all levels of participation (from professional to recreational) and his goal is to return patients back to their regular activities using evidence-based medicine to guide his treatment plan. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, where he was a four-year letter winner and All-Conference tailback for the varsity football team. He was awarded the Howell-Murray Alumni Medal upon graduation. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he received the Jonathan Rhoads Prize for Surgical Scholarship. Dr. Jones completed his orthopaedic residency training at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City, frequently recognized as the #1 Hospital for Orthopaedic Surgery by US News & World Report. He subsequently completed a traveling fellowship and acquired further expertise in shoulder and cartilage surgery at specialized centers across Europe, including Lyon & Paris France. He is frequently invited to teach and lecture on these topics both nationally and internationally.
