ABOUT DR. THOMAS KREMEN

Thomas J. Kremen, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with additional subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2006 and then continued at UCLA where he completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency Training in 2012. 

Between 2008 and 2009, Dr. Kremen honed his research knowledge as a California Institute for Regenerative Medicine Clinical Fellow and in 2013, he completed an Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Following his fellowship at Duke, Dr. Kremen accepted a position at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and their newly formed orthopaedic program where he worked for 5 years prior to returning to UCLA in 2018.

Dr. Kremen stays up to date in his field through memberships in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Research Society, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, to name just a few.

In his pursuit of finding the best treatments, Dr. Kremen regularly participates in research studies, and he has published and presented dozens of research papers at both national and international meetings. Jonathan Oheb, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with extensive training and years of experience in hand and upper extremity surgery, as well as general orthopedics and orthopedic trauma. Dr. Kristofer J. Jones is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports-related musculoskeletal injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow. As a former intercollegiate athlete, Dr. Jones understands the unique demands and concerns faced by athletes at all levels of participation (from professional to recreational) and his goal is to return patients back to their regular activities using evidence-based medicine to guide his treatment plan. Kushagra Verma, MD, MS, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Advanced Spine Care in Los Alamitos and Marina Del Rey, California. About William R. Gallivan JR., MD 

Dr. Gallivan is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon. Since opening his practice in 1992, he has focused on sports medicine and joint replacement surgery. He developed a keen interest in orthopedics and sports medicine after a season ending football injury in high school. This interest led him to study at some of the most prestigious training programs available in orthopedics.

Born in Arrington, England, Dr. Gallivan is a fourth-generation surgeon. He earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. In 1987, he completed a General Surgery internship at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He completed his orthopedic training in Philadelphia as the Chief Resident of the Total Joint Service at the Rothman Institute. Training with Dr. Richard Rothman and Dr. Robert Booth, two renowned orthopedic surgeons and implant developers, sparked Dr. Gallivan’s passion for technology fostering his advanced approach to orthopedic surgery and treatment which continues today. In 1992, Dr. Gallivan completed an Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine fellowship at The Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, Az.

Dr. Gallivan returned to Santa Barbara in 1992 and started his practice. He was the first surgeon on the West Coast to use Computer Assisted Surgery (CAS) to perform hip resurfacing. He also utilizes robotic navigation for the minimally invasive total hip and knee replacement surgeries he performs. With a comprehensive approach, he has developed a Rapid Recovery program for total joints.
