Jessica Mathis, PT, DPT, GCS, received her Bachelor of Health Science degree in 2008 and her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2011, both from the University of Central Arkansas. I have been a Licensed Physical Therapist for 20 years in beautiful Bozeman, MT and have advanced training in both craniosacral therapy and lymphatic drainage therapy. I incorporated dry needling into my physical therapy practice nine years ago and have a passion to assist others with their healing process. After receiving my Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis, Minnesota I decided to move out to Bozeman, Montana. Following school, I continued to explore more alternative therapies. Throughout the years, I continue to appreciate the combination of traditional and non-traditional therapies and how a person can benefit from receiving both. In my practice, I look at how the body moves and how a person breathes. Assessing the internal patterns that are contributing to the outer patterns of the body and causing pain, tension and decreased tolerance with activity. I believe the body has an amazing capacity to heal.

Nicole brings over 16 years of experience in orthopedic out-patient physical therapy to VCSM. She graduated from Gordon College with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and from The University of Hartford with a Masters in Physical Therapy. She also has been certified as a personal trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America since 2004. Nicole believes in an active lifestyle through exercise and fitness. That belief propelled her to her interest and passion to help others and her desire to make a difference in the lives of people who are in pain. Nicole is married and a mother of four children and currently resides in Granby, CT.

Caroline specializes in pelvic health physical therapy and is dedicated to helping patients improve comfort, function, and quality of life through personalized, evidence-based care.  Caroline earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Miami University in 2013 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Drexel University in 2016. She began her career as an inpatient physical therapist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, where she worked extensively with individuals with spinal cord injuries and complex neurological conditions.

 

Following the birth of her first daughter in 2020, Caroline developed a deep interest in pelvic health and pursued advanced training through Herman & Wallace, along with dedicated clinical mentorship while continuing her work at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. In 2022, she fully transitioned into an outpatient pelvic health physical therapy role.

Caroline is passionate about normalizing open conversations around pelvic health, increasing public education, and creating a supportive, shame-free environment where patients feel heard, empowered, and confident in their care. She is excited to bring her diverse clinical background and expertise to the Beyond Gyne Health community.

Outside of work, Caroline enjoys spending time at home with her husband and three young daughters. She loves running, strength training, coffee, hearty soups, family walks, and admiring the moon. We are excited to welcome her to the team!

Shannon Jaronik DPT, PRPC is a pelvic floor physical therapist for Beyond Gyne Health. Shannon received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2002 and graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2005. She is a specialist in the field of pelvic floor therapy, having earned her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) in 2020 through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.

Shannon began her career as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist with Northshore University Healthsystems. She quickly transitioned into women's health having found a passion for treating and supporting women of all ages. Shannon moved to a new role with Northwestern Medicine Urogynecology at Lake Forest Hospital in 2016. Her areas of interest include treating urinary urgency-frequency and dyspareunia (pain with intercourse). She is excited to bring her almost 20 years of experience to the clients of Beyond Gyne Health.

In her free time, Shannon enjoys reading, riding her bike and spending time with her husband, two teenagers and her beagle, Scooter.​

The body was designed to move efficiently, but unfortunately our world does not lend itself to promoting the longevity of our design. Everything we generally do is in front of us and most of us have a dominant side that gets used more than the other. We sit in furniture or cars and at desks constantly and rarely use the full range of joint motion for which our body has full potential. Largely because of this, we tend to become asymmetric in our movements and consequently lose the ability to move through the full range in our joints. In time, this leads to compensatory patterns, wear and tear on our tissue and resultant pain. Each person's pattens are unique and need to be evaluated as such. My approach consists of evaluating how well your joints are moving, which motor patterns are being used to move you through space and then taking the appropriate measures to get both areas in a more effective and efficient position. The focus is functional and intentional movement.

Gerald F. Gaughan, MD, is a highly experienced physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Doctors United, with offices in the West Farms and Wakefield neighborhoods in the White Plains, and Ardsley, New York.
