Jaydienne Fontejon, DPM began her professional journey as an undergraduate at the University of California Berkeley. Her path continued to New York where she received a masters degree at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her doctorate degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

Upon graduating, she entered a podiatric medicine and surgery residency with a credential in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr. Garen Azizi, D.P.M is a new physician to Gelbmann Podiatry. He is passionate about providing the utmost patient care to his patients and enjoys treating challenging foot and ankle pathologies. Dr. Azizi graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Azizi received an extensive training in sports medicine, trauma, foot and ankle surgery, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, wound care, and routine foot care. Dr. Azizi is American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) candidate. During his free time, Dr. Azizi enjoys watching and playing sports, spending time with his family and traveling. Steven Sharlin, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist at The Foot Care Group, serving patients in Hinsdale, Libertyville, and the Streeterville community of Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Sharlin completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and his podiatric medical education at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Shah graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and an MBA from the Richard J. Fox School of Business. He completed his surgical training at Crozer Health, specializing in trauma, deformity correction, limb salvage, arthroscopy, sports medicine, and minimally invasive techniques. During his residency, he also trained at Mount Sinai Hospital-Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, focusing on pediatric foot and ankle deformities. Currently based in Chicagoland, Dr. Shah is a practicing podiatric physician and surgeon and an assistant professor at Rosalind Franklin University. He serves as Vice Chair of Surgery at Community First Medical Center and as a Director-at-Large for the Illinois Association of Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons. He is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a member of American Podiatric Medical Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons

Podiatrist Aamir Mahmood, DPM, created Momentum Foot & Ankle Clinic to get to know people on a personal level and provide them with the space they need to receive the best podiatric care. At the offices in Michigan City and Chesterton, Indiana, and Lombard, Illinois, Dr. Mahmood is excited to be a part of the community, and wants his patients to feel at home. His goal will always be to make them feel comfortable because when patients feel they can be honest with him, that’s when the real treatment begins. 

Dr. Mahmood is a born and bred Chicago native who grew up knowing all too well the importance of podiatric health. He was born with pes planus (flat feet) and spent his childhood wearing orthotics, braces, and dealing with sporadic pain due to rigorous activity. These experiences allowed him to realize very early on that he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. 

After completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University of Chicago, Dr. Mahmood decided to take a year to complete a Masters in Public Health from Benedictine University to equip him with a better understanding of a different viewpoint of medicine. From here, he completed his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine (formerly known as Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine). He then completed a three-year surgical residency at Jesse Brown VA in Chicago, specializing in foot and ankle surgery where he served as chief resident. During his residency, he presented peer-reviewed abstracts at multiple surgical and wound care conferences. His research won an award at the Symposium for Advanced Wound Care in 2018. 

Dr. Mahmood has board qualifications in the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Forefoot/Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle. 

When Dr. Mahmood isn’t a force of change in podiatry, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids. He is a car aficionado and loves to teach his kids everything he knows about cars. He also enjoys surrounding himself with friends and family and hosting gatherings. He is known to be an avid basketball player and an encyclopedia of trivial facts. Dr. Bruce Bever, DPM is a Board Certified foot and ankle surgeon in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Sonu Joseph, DPM is a double board certified foot and ankle surgeon in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in Morton Grove, IL and went to Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Joseph credits her Jesuit education for her ability to provide personalized attention and concern for her patients.  She received her doctorate of podiatric medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College in 2016. She went on to complete her surgical residency at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, where she received excellent training and the ability to treat conditions of the foot and ankle both conservatively and surgically. She is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Biren Shah, DPM, provides foot care for the residents of Rockford, Illinois, at Midwest Foot and Ankle Associates. As a podiatric surgeon, Dr. Shah specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Shah grew up in India and earned an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering there. He relocated to the United States and earned an associate’s degree in nuclear medicine from Roosevelt University in Illinois.

Once he discovered his passion for medicine, Dr. Shah went to medical school at Barry University and completed extensive medical training during his residency at Mercy Hospital in Miami. He learned specialized skills in sports medicine, reconstructive surgery, trauma, pediatric podiatry, and diabetic wound care and limb salvage.

Dr. Joshi earned his Bachelor of Science degree in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he made the Dean’s list. He went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa, where he worked as a teaching assistant.

Dr. Joshi finished his medical training with a foot and ankle reconstructive surgery residency at Ascension in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was Chief Resident. He received the University Merit Scholarship and the Bakotic Endowed Scholarship.

He maintains his medical credentials with continuing education and has published various research studies in prestigious medical journals.
