I am dual board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. I see clients from age 12 and up. You may suffer from anxiety, depression, self- esteem issues, internal conflicts, guilt or existential questioning among the varied sources of distress that would bring you into psychotherapy and perhaps sometimes create a need for adjunctive medication.
But I regard each person as an individual with his/her own narrative. Part of our work together is to create and understand this narrative and how it came about. Sometimes the past can greatly affect the present without our being aware of its power. But knowing these influences helps one create a new narrative and way of going forward.
