Mary Ann McDonnell, RN, MS, CS, PMHNP, is licensed as a child and adolescent clinical nurse specialist and a family psychiatric nurse practitioner and has a PhD in Philosophy. She obtained her Associates of Science in Nursing Degree at Quincy College, her Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree, Masters of Science in Nursing Degree, and her PhD in Philosophy at Northeastern University in Boston. Previously she was the director of the clinical trials program in pediatric psychopharmacology research at Massachusetts General Hospital for over 10 years, Dr. McDonnell was a co-investigator of 81 research studies of psychiatric disorders and medications, and continues to conduct research studies in her office in Hingham, MA. Dr. McDonnell is a professor of psychobiology & psychopharmacology in the graduate nursing program at Northeastern University, and she specializes in the medication management of children, adolescents and adults with various psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Tsappis is a board certified physician with specialty training in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He was raised in a rural area of northern California. After graduating from medical school he moved to Vermont for specialty training in general psychiatry and then to Pennsylvania for his child and adolescent psychiatry training. During his final year of training he served as chief resident for the training program. In addition to his work here at Family Psychiatric Care Dr. Tsappis has been involved in clinical care in the outpatient clinics of two major health systems in the Boston area, consultation to a local specialized preparatory school and integrated care at a large pediatric practice. He has provided invited presentations to local, national and international audiences.

I have been working in the field of mental health for over two decades as a social worker, nurse, therapist and nurse practitioner. My experience includes working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics and in emergency services.

Amjad Bahnassi quite literally could not have gotten out of Syria any sooner. Born and raised in the capital of Damascus, Bahnassi graduated high school at 16 and finished medical school at 22. The day after graduation, he left.

Bahnassi came to Worcester in the early 1980s for a residency program at UMass Medical Center as a psychiatrist and never left. After completing his residency, he started Behavioral Healthcare Services, a practice he still leads after more than 25 years.
Rebecca Blackmore is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has 5+ years of nursing experience in behavioral health and dual diagnosis and 2 years of nursing and care coordination experience working with social determinants of health. She has experience with patients across the lifespan and is particularly interested in ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Schizophrenia, and Substance Use Disorders. She has mentored nursing students at various colleges in Central Massachusetts.
Rebecca understands how social factors can affect physical and mental health outcomes. She is passionate about utilizing a holistic approach individualized to each patient, encompassing their culture and preferences to the greatest extent. Rebecca believes that medication is only one part of treatment and aims to explore, teach, and guide the implementation nonpharmacological treatments such as psychotherapy, lifestyle habits, sleep &nutrition
