We honor each person as an individual, listening to their concerns and creating a personalized treatment plan to meet their particular health needs and goals.
At Pioneer Counseling and Consulting, patients receive extensive care for a wide range of mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. We begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and then create a care plan that can include medication management, individual therapy, couples therapy, or group therapy.
Each person receives remarkable care for every type of mental health condition, from depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, and panic attacks.
Our licensed therapists have helped many people with common problems like stress, low self-esteem, and anger management. We’re equally skilled in treating issues that are sensitive and challenging, like gender transitions and narcissistic abuse.
In addition to having access to a team with experience in diverse therapies proven to help people overcome mental health disorders, our providers keep up with innovative therapies that bring extraordinary symptom relief.
Patients can receive one of today’s most advanced treatments, Spravato®, a nasal spray that rapidly relieves treatment-resistant depression. It's also an effective treatment for major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts.
We look forward to meeting new patients, building ongoing relationships with current patients, and helping each person manage their challenges and enjoy a thriving life.

Brian Kelly, MS, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor at Pioneer Counseling and Consulting, which has locations in Canonsburg, Washington, and Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. He brings a rich and varied background to his counseling work, having provided care in inpatient facilities, college counseling centers, and outpatient private practice. These diverse environments have shaped his understanding of the human experience and strengthened his ability to support clients through a wide range of life challenges.
He specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults in both individual and couples counseling. His areas of experience include anxiety, depression, ADHD, vocational concerns, trauma-informed therapy, body dysmorphia, and relationship issues. Through these areas of focus, he helps clients improve their quality of life, build resilience, and increase confidence in navigating everyday challenges.
In individual therapy, he uses an eclectic approach, with a strong foundation in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). By blending various therapeutic techniques, he guides clients in developing psychological flexibility, emotional awareness, and a stronger sense of identity—helping them feel more connected to their authentic selves.
In his work with couples, he draws from the Gottman Method, using evidence-based strategies to help partners repair, rebuild, and reconnect. His goal is to help each couple understand their roles in the relationship and strengthen the foundations of love, trust, and communication.
At the heart of his approach is a deep belief in each person’s ability to grow. Many clients begin counseling unsure of their inner strength—and over time come to discover they are more capable than they realized. Brian is honored to walk alongside clients on their journeys, helping them become experts in their own lives and build a brighter, more empowered future.
