I have been working in the nursing field since 1996 in both acute and outpatient settings. I focus on holistic patient care. I believe the patient needs to be confident in the care he receives in both mind and body and kindness can be the one single ingredient that ensures proper healing. Mental health is an area of expertise I have always been interested in but was not able to pursue right out of college due to a lack of places to work in rural communities. There are deserts of areas out there with no mental health care services. I graduated in May of 2019 with a Master of Science in Nursing and certification as a PMHNP (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner). My goal is to reach areas that have the least amount of mental health services through telehealth.

Sara is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with an additional board certification as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. Sara has worked in the professional nursing setting with children since 1994 and as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2004. She worked in Pediatric Emergency for 15 years. Sara has worked with children and families in crisis and those with long-term mental health needs. Her areas of expertise include PANS/PANDAS, adoption and adoption trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and Autism. Sara believes children are the most successful when parents adopt consistent, collaborative, and connected parenting along with a whole foods lifestyle as a means of healing the whole family. Outside of work Sara spends time with her busy family and performs with the Central Iowa Wind Ensemble.

Lauren is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She received her undergraduate degree at St. Norbert College, where she studied biomedical sciences and Spanish language. She then completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Des Moines University. Lauren is passionate about providing culturally competent and equitable care for patients of various backgrounds. Lauren recognizes the importance of educating her patients so that they receive informed care and are able to feel empowered in their journey towards wellness. Lauren practices from a holistic and evidence-based approach and works with her patients to achieve overall well-being in all domains of their life. My role as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is to work with adults and teens and their families in the diagnosis and medication treatment to manage mental health symptoms. I work with patients who are diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, ADHD, etc. I have worked in mental health in various capacities since 2003, including as a mental health outreach worker and an inpatient psychiatric nurse as well as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
