Haresh Tharwani, MD, DFAPA, is the founder, president, and chief medical officer of MD Psychiatry & Emotional Health, PLLC. Dr. Tharwani is board-certified in general psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry. With a passion for research and education, he was a faculty member at Duke University for 19 years, serving as a senior associate professor and medical director.
In 2005, the American Psychiatric Association named Dr. Tharwani the recipient of the “Best Teacher of the Year” award. He has also won many other awards, including “Compassionate Doctor Recognition,” the “On-Time Doctor Award,” and the “Patient’s Choice Award” on multiple occasions.
Dr. Tharwani specializes in treating patients with clinical depression, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and personality disorders using evidence-based psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
