Over the past 20 years, Dr. Sosunmolu Shoyinka has built a purpose-driven career aimed at serving vulnerable populations. This ultimately led him to launch Centia Health in 2018. Working with vulnerable populations in rural America and in disaster settings exposed him to the dire shortage of behavioral health services both within and outside the U.S. In some geographic areas, there are few options available for underserved populations who need a psychiatrist. Dr. Shoyinka realized that telepsychiatry would be a key strategy for reaching people in need wherever they are. He founded Centia Health to deliver evidence-based mental health and addiction treatment via telepsychiatry to individuals in non-traditional settings. This includes correctional settings (jails, diversion programs, courts), primary care settings, and addiction treatment programs.
