Personal Interests

Dr. Chiu is married and has three daughters who are passionate about dance. They participate in ballet, hip-hop, jazz, team dance, and recently started ice skating lessons. His two dogs Marv and Harry were named after characters from his wife's favorite movie, Home Alone.

Although he grew up in San Francisco, Dr. Chiu never had much interest in watching professional sports. However, after spending four years in Philadelphia and marrying a woman from Pottstown, PA, he became a dedicated Eagles fan. Go birds!

During her residency, Dr. Jacob trained extensively at University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic, as well as at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She now teaches surgical residents in the metropolitan Detroit area and local high school students. 

Following residency, Dr. Jacob trained in advanced surgical techniques, including ankle joint replacements and minimally invasive surgery. Andrew Bernhard, DPM, is a foot and ankle surgeon practicing at Tussey Mountain Foot & Ankle Specialists, located in State College, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Bernhard grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated with an undergraduate degree from John Carroll University in biology and from podiatric medical school at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. From there, he completed a three-year rearfoot and ankle certified medical and surgical residency at Kingwood Medical Center, part of the Greater Texas Educational Foundation, in Houston, Texas. He met Dr. Kaitlyn Bernhard while in medical school, and they have been working separately in private practice in Colorado since residency. Dr. Ben McGrath is a Board certified (FACFAS) Podiatrist specializing in the surgical and conservative treatment of the foot and ankle.

He received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Spanish from Brigham Young University. He then obtained his Doctorate degree from the California School of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. McGrath went on to complete a 3-year integrated Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with added credentials in Reconstructive Rearfoot/ Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA) at the White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. During his residency, he worked with Podiatric and Orthopedic surgeons to treat all facets of foot and ankle pathology.

He served as a member of the Center for Limb Preservation & Advanced Wound Care at White Memorial treating complex lower extremity deformities related to diabetes and peripheral vascular disease. As chief resident, he completed training at USC Keck Medical Center with the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service. His concentration was on advanced techniques in lower extremity reconstructions. Today, Dr. McGrath’s clinical focus is on sports medicine and treatment of all forms of foot and ankle injuries and deformities including bunion and hammertoe deformity, flatfoot deformity, arthritis, joint fusions, tendon repair, ankle fractures, nerve decompression, neuromas, and joint reconstruction.

Dr. Asif Khan was raised in the metro Detroit area, and earned his bachelor degree from the University of Michigan, Dearborn. He then went on to earn his doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery from California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA. Dr. Khan retuned to Michigan to complete his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Beaumont Health, where he served as Chief Resident his final year of training. He then went on to complete fellowship, also at Beaumont Health, in Diabetic Limb Salvage and Wound Care. Dr. Khan is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). He also holds the Certificate of Added Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care issued by the ABPM. Dr. Khan's research has been published in multiple medical journals . Navrit Randhawa, DPM, is a foot and ankle surgeon and wound care specialist at Podiatry Wellness Center of New Jersey in Carteret and Manaplan Township, New Jersey. 

Dr. Randhawa finished his podiatric surgical residency from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in East Orange, New Jersey. During his residency, he served as Chief Resident and ultimately received a doctorate degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

His interests include the management of all foot and ankle pathology, including heel pain, bunions, and hammertoes, sports medicine, as well as diabetic foot and limb salvage with the treatment of wounds and infections. He continues to be active in education, recently receiving certification in hyperbaric oxygen therapy and completing the Master’s Course for lapiplasty bunion correction. 

Dr. Shemenski is an avid pilot and enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time with his wife and daughter. He is a supporter of The Tomorrow Fund for pediatric cancer and is a member of the SAS Lacrosse Foundation.

Kaitlyn Bernhard, DPM, is a foot and ankle surgeon practicing at Tussey Mountain Foot & Ankle Specialists located in State College, Pennsylvania. 

Originally from central Pennsylvania, Dr. Bernhard completed her undergraduate studies at Mercyhurst University with honors in a Bachelor of Science in biology. Following in her father’s footsteps, she received her doctorate at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. A 2017 graduate from Highlands-Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency program in Denver, Colorado, she was extensively trained in reconstructive and trauma surgery involving the forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle. 

Dr. Bernhard is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is credentialed at Mount Nittany Medical Center and Penn Highlands Huntingdon. Her husband, Andrew Bernhard, DPM, is also a podiatrist. They previously lived in Colorado and decided to move back to Pennsylvania to be closer to family and work together. 

Outside of podiatry, Dr. Bernhard and her husband enjoy spending time with their two kids and two dogs. Together they enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and baking. Dr. Bernhard is an avid runner and has completed dozens of ultramarathons and trail races. 

As a foot and ankle surgeon and clinician, Dr. Bernhard believes improving her patients’ lower extremity health will allow them the opportunity to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle for longevity.
