Michael Healy, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in interventional and structural cardiology. His areas of expertise include state-of-the-art, minimally-invasive procedures for the treatment of coronary and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Healy earned his medical degree with honors from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Healy then completed interventional cardiology fellowship at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, followed by advanced training in structural heart, peripheral vascular, and complex coronary interventions. Born and raised in Seattle, Dr. Ostrom received his Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the University of Washington in 1999. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Dr. Ostrom was actively involved in cardiovascular research at the university and at the local biotechnology company ZymoGenetics, Inc.
Shortly after graduating, Dr. Ostrom began his medical studies at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) system. In addition, Dr. Ostrom pursued cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in West Carson, California, and at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has special interests in catheter ablation of SVT, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and VT as well as in implantation of cardioverter-defibrillators (including subcutaneous systems), permanent pacemakers (including leadless technologies), and CRT insertion.
Dr. Burris attended UC San Diego for his undergraduate and graduate degrees and then received his medical degree from UC Irvine where he subsequently completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship. He then completed his advanced fellowship training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Chicago where he focused on complex ablations and device implantation. In addition to his board certifications in both cardiac electrophysiology and cardiology, he is board certified in internal medicine and adult comprehensive echocardiography.
Dr. Burris is welcoming new patients and is affiliated with Hoag Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute in Newport Beach, Hoag Hospital Irvine, & Hoag Orthopedic Institute, St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, and Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana.
