Dr. Lu then moved to Houston to pursue her postdoctoral research fellowship training, initially at the breast cancer center at Baylor College of Medicine and subsequently at the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center. After this Dr. Lu decided to go back to her first love, which was direct patient care, specializing in women’s health. Dr. Lu completed Ob/Gyn residency training at the McGovern Medical School in Houston and Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York. Dr. Lu enjoys combining both her clinical expertise and in-depth academic knowledge of her specialty to provide individualized and compassionate care to women of all ages. With more than 40 years of experience working with women in all life stages, Carlos Cardenas, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist serving people in San Antonio, Texas. He provides a wide range of gynecology services, focusing on menopause management, preventive services and well-woman exams, and minimally invasive surgeries.
He completed an internship at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his residency training at Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly Hahnemann Medical College) in Philadelphia. Dr. Das attended medical school at Calcutta National Medical College in Kolkata, India, before completing her residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Fluent in English, Bengali, and Hindi, Dr. Das offers patient-centered care in a warm and comforting manner. She thoroughly talks to each patient about their health issues and encourages women to take an active role in the decisions surrounding their health care.
With more than 20 years of experience in high-risk obstetrics, infertility, urogynecological procedures, and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Das can provide a range of services and individualized care to meet each patient’s needs.
Active in her field, Dr. Das has published in journals and presented at several conferences. She lives in the Northwest Suburbs in Chicago with her husband, two sons, and two dogs. When she isn’t helping patients, Dr. Das enjoys spending time with her family.
