He is the creator of a unique, patented knee brace with a multidimensional neoprene support called the “Victory Knee Brace,” which was first introduced at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting in San Francisco in 2004.

He is a Diplomate of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and possesses a subspecialty certificate in orthopaedic sports medicine. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Khabie is the former Chief of Surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital, where he is also the co-director of the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute. He is a former Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU and currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor at New York Medical College. He is recognized as a NY Top Doctor for 2024–2025 by NY Top Docs (USA Top Docs Division)

He also cares for professional, collegiate, high school and recreational athletes.

He uses the latest technology, bringing to his patients the use of stem cell and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapies and patient-specific joint reconstruction.

He attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by two years of research at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Rogell attended Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his surgical internship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He then completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, and St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. Afterward, he returned to MedStar Union Memorial Hospital to complete a sports medicine fellowship.

During his years of training, Dr. Rogell was affiliated with the New York Rangers, the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Blast, Junior Olympics, and various college and high school teams. His career includes working with the Danbury Militia football team, the Danbury Whalers and Titans hockey teams, the Danbury Westerners baseball team, and local high schools. He also volunteers his time with our veterans through Warrior Hike.

Dr. Rogell values his relationships with patients of all ages and working with families to keep them healthy, strong, and active. He is a caring and well-respected physician who holds the well-being of his patients in the highest regard.

He has always been an athlete who enjoys playing soccer, rugby, and skiing. Dr. Rogell is an avid reader, and enjoys hiking with his family and working on his 1967 Ford Mustang. He lives with his wife, two children, and rescued black lab in Fairfield County.

He is the Chief of Joint Replacement Surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital and the Medical Director at the Orthopaedic & Specialty Surgery Center in Danbury, Connecticut. He is on staff at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, Orthopaedic & Specialty Surgery Center in Danbury, and Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, New York.

He has served many years as the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Putnam Hospital Center and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Buchalter’s main interest is in joint replacement surgery. He performs minimally invasive hip and knee replacements using the most advanced technology. He utilizes robotics (MAKO) and computer navigation, as well as muscle sparing direct anterior hip replacements with the HANA table. Many patients can go home the same day after a hip or knee replacement. The remaining patients are usually 23 hour stays with a discharge to home. Advanced anesthetic techniques, local anesthetic blocks, and non-narcotic medications are used to minimize post operative pain and accelerate recoveries. Dr. Buchalter also performs shoulder replacements, hip and knee revisions, and arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery.

Dr. Buchalter received his original board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1990 and has re-certified in 2000, 2010, and 2020.
