Originally from Harlingen, Texas, Dr. Roderick Capelo received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at The University of Texas at Austin, then attended medical school at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. During his first 2 years of residency, he was unsure what aspect of orthopedic surgery was right for him. His first rotation outside of John Peter Smith Hospital was in Pediatric Orthopedics at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, and he immediately found his calling. Within his first week on that rotation, Dr. Capelo knew that caring for children was his passion. Upon dedicating himself to treating children, he underwent specialized training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedics at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
Dr. Capelo co-founded Pediatric Sports and Spine Associates in 2006. He has lived in the DFW Metroplex for over 20 years. He and his wife, Renee, have 2 daughters and a son. Pavel Muradov, MD, is a dual fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee surgery at Integrity Orthopedics in Katy, Texas. The focus of his practice is on high-quality adult knee and hip reconstruction with an emphasis on multimodal pain control.
At Integrity Orthopedics, Dr. Muradov and the team have provided high-quality patient care for over a decade. From arthritis treatment to knee arthroscopy, and weight management to total hip replacement, they are ready to treat the small things, the big things, and everything in between. Dr. Muradov’s extensive training allows him to expertly assess any hip or knee condition, regardless of how many operations you may have had already. Dr. Muradov is fluent in Russian, and his staff is fluent in Spanish, allowing them to serve more patients in their community. Originally born in Moscow, Russia, Dr. Muradov was raised in Siberia, and trained in the United States. He later graduated from the University of Houston in 2006, earning a double major in chemistry and biology. He then graduated from the University of Texas – Galveston and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno joint program. In 2015, he returned to Houston for a one-year adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship at the Texas Medical Center. The following year, he completed an intensive, minimally invasive anterior hip fellowship in Belgium.
In the interim, he has been working as a contracting surgeon delivering orthopedic care to underserved areas of the United States. He has also authored several peer-reviewed articles and has been invited to speak at national conferences on various orthopedic topics.
In 2017, Dr. Muradov partnered with Houston Methodist to provide patients with the most up-to-date care relating to hip and knee problems. Since then, he has expanded to the HCA and Herman health systems to accommodate all of his patients and their insurance plans.

Dr. Amun Makani is a Harvard-trained, double board-certified orthopedic surgeon and orthopedic sports medicine specialist. Dr. Makani is an active fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Makani offers state-of-the-art diagnostics and innovative, personalized care to treat painful orthopaedic issues and sports injuries including complex knee cartilage and ligamentous injuries, shoulder pathology including rotator cuff injuries and advanced arthritis in all major joints.
Dr. Makani graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northwestern University and was inducted into the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society for his achievement in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Makani earned his Doctor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.
He was selected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, an honor given to the top of one’s medical school class. He was selected to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the ivy league University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, the oldest orthopaedic residency in the country.
Following his residency, Dr. Makani completed additional rigorous fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Makani also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
Dr. Makani has years of experience in clinical and athletic environments. In addition to conventional orthopedic care, he also provides newer modalities including injection treatments to help patients get back to their regular activities quickly. Brian Hamzavi, MD, is a New York-trained orthopaedic surgeon bringing a wealth of experience to Hammer Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Palm Bay, Florida.
Dr. Hamzavi began his medical journey with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. He later earned a master’s degree in medical science and medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Mt Sinai Hospital, formally know as St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York. Dr. Hamzavi also served as the orthopaedic surgery chief resident at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital. He has since specialized in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those involving knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, wrist pain, hand pain, elbow pain, and back pain.
After residency in New York, Dr Hamzavi relocated to Florida to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the University of South Florida and Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa.
While in the Tampa Bay area, Dr. Hamzavi provided coverage of local high schools, the University of Tampa Soccer team, St. Leo University, the University of South Florida Football and Soccer teams, as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He welcomes patients of all ages, including younger pediatric patients.
In addition to conventional orthopaedic treatments, like minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Hamzavi specializes in advanced regenerative medicine techniques, including stem cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), offering innovative solutions for various musculoskeletal conditions.

Steven M. Page, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at 360 Orthopedics in Sarasota, Venice, and Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Dr. Page specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and shoulder and knee joint replacements.
Dr. Page earned his Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Miami University in Florida. He completed his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio, where he was also named valedictorian. He then completed his orthopedic residency at the University of South Carolina, followed by an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the renowned UHZ Sports Medicine Institute at the University of Miami.
During his Fellowship, Dr. Page was the team physician for numerous athletes from the Miami Hurricanes, Miami Dolphins, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Locally, he is the sports medicine physician for the Sarasota High School Sailors. Dr. Page treats patients of all ages with an interest in both young and aging athletes. He is trained in the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, however, often uses many nonsurgical treatments including PRP and Stem Cells.
