Within his first week on that rotation, Dr. Capelo knew that caring for children was his passion. Gabriel L. Petruccelli is an accomplished board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopy, sports medicine, shoulder replacements and general orthopaedics. Dr. Petruccelli joinedGreater Washington Orthopaedic Group, PA in 2012, with three locations: Rockville, Silver Spring andGermanTown, Maryland.
Dr. Petruccelli is a Maryland native, who graduated from The Heights School in Potomac, where he played basketball and soccer.
Dr. Petruccelli graduated from the George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science before receiving a certificate in Physiology at the Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados in 2006 before relocating to New York City to complete his Internship and Orthopaedic residency at New York Medical College-St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center/ Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in 2011.
In 2012, Dr. Petruccelli relocated to the west coast to complete his fellowship with the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship. There he honed and specialized his skills within the field of sports medicine and open shoulder surgery.Also, during his time there, he worked closely with Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres. He also assisted the team physician for the San Diego State Aztecs. Given the opportunity to research, he published surgical technique videos for national orthopaedic society meetings that year.
Dr. Petruccelli has received the Top Doctors Washingtonian Magazine Award in 2017, 2018 & 2019. Since 2016, he has been the Section Chief of the Department of Orthopaedics at Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center.
Dr. Petruccelli supports the athletic programs as the team physician at Georgetown Preparatory School and supporting his high school alma mater, The Heights School. He also gives valuable educational talks throughout the community.

Dr. Tamai began his professional pursuits at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry. He subsequently enrolled at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and obtained his Doctor of Medicine. Afterward, Dr. Tamai completed an internship at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, followed by a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Tamai moved to Fairbanks in 1992 to assume a position as staff orthopaedic surgeon at Bassett Army Community Hospital on Fort Wainwright. Following the conclusion of his military service, Dr. Tamai worked at Tanana Valley Clinic, also in Fairbanks, until 2005. He also served with the Advanced Medical Centers of Alaska as an orthopedic surgeon.
Dr. Tamai diagnoses and treats a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, including elbow pain, rotator cuff injuries, meniscal injuries, and carpal tunnel syndrome. He also offers arthritis treatment, ACL repair, fracture care, and regenerative medicine techniques such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Pavel Muradov, MD, is a dual fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee surgery at Integrity Orthopedics in Katy, Texas. The focus of his practice is on high-quality adult knee and hip reconstruction with an emphasis on multimodal pain control.

In 2015, he returned to Houston for a one-year adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship at the Texas Medical Center. The following year, he completed an intensive, minimally invasive anterior hip fellowship in Belgium.
In the interim, he has been working as a contracting surgeon delivering orthopedic care to underserved areas of the United States. He has also authored several peer-reviewed articles and has been invited to speak at national conferences on various orthopedic topics.
In 2017, Dr. Muradov partnered with Houston Methodist to provide patients with the most up-to-date care relating to hip and knee problems. Since then, he has expanded to the HCA and Herman health systems to accommodate all of his patients and their insurance plans.

Wayne O. Alani, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon serving patients from in and around Sugar Land and Houston, Texas. He is proud of the positive impact his practice has on the men and women who turn to him for joint health care. Dr. Alani’s educational journey began at Texas A&M in his hometown of Bryan, Texas. He went on to study medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, where he earned his medical degree. He further refined his skill set through an internship and an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical School in Wichita, Kansas. Continuing education is one of Dr. Alani’s most deeply held priorities, which is why he pursued a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in St. Louis, Missouri.
