He is the Chief of Joint Replacement Surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital and the Medical Director at the Orthopaedic & Specialty Surgery Center in Danbury, Connecticut. He has served many years as the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Putnam Hospital Center and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Buchalter’s main interest is in joint replacement surgery. He performs minimally invasive hip and knee replacements using the most advanced technology. He utilizes robotics (MAKO) and computer navigation, as well as muscle sparing direct anterior hip replacements with the HANA table. Many patients can go home the same day after a hip or knee replacement. The remaining patients are usually 23 hour stays with a discharge to home. Matthew Rogell, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He has practiced in the greater Danbury, Connecticut, area since 2006.
With fellowship expertise in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery, Dr. Rogell also specializes in procedures for adult total joint and reconstruction of the knees, hips, and shoulders. Daniel Smith, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He sees patients at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group in Carmel, Fishkill, and Mount Kisco, New York, and Danbury, Connecticut.
Dr. Smith graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in human development. He earned his medical degree at New York University Grossman School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then pursued fellowship training in adult reconstruction at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, focusing on complex hip and knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, and robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery.
He has authored numerous publications and presented at regional and national orthopaedic meetings on topics ranging from outpatient joint replacement surgery to the treatment of joint replacement infections. Andrew Peretz, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery. Dr. Peretz joined Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group, PLLC, in 1997, and he treats spinal disorders in both adults and pediatric patients at the practice’s locations in Mount Kisco, Fishkill, Newburgh, and Carmel, New York.
Dr. Peretz received his degree in chemistry from Princeton University and earned his medical degree from the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. Dr. Peretz then completed his fellowship in spinal surgery at the Institute for Spinal Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Dean C. Perfetti, MD, MPH, is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in spine surgery. Dr. Perfetti sees patients at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group at their Mount Kisco, New York, location.
Dr. Perfetti obtained his undergraduate degree at Columbia College (Columbia University), graduating with the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
He achieved a dual Medical Degree and Master of Public Health Degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He graduated at the top of his class with the highest honors of Alpha Omega Alpha and Beta Ioda Chapter of Delta Omega.
He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell as chief resident, followed by a spine surgery fellowship at the prestigious Texas Back Institute, which pioneered Total Disc Replacement in the United States.
Dr. Perfetti’s clinical focus is on caring for back and neck injuries, whether from acute traumas such as herniations or fractures, chronic conditions like arthritis and stenosis, or spinal abnormalities.

Scott Levin, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in sports medicine at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He is proud to provide care to patients at the practice’s locations in Mount Kisco, Fishkill, Newburgh, and Carmel, New York, and Danbury, Connecticut.
Dr. Levin graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Temple University and completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Stony Brook University in New York, where he was selected as the Administrative Chief Resident during his final year. He went on to complete his sports medicine fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, where he developed expertise in evaluating sports-related injuries and the skills to treat them with a minimally invasive technique.
During his time at Lenox Hill, he also had the opportunity to work with many professional and collegiate athletes, serving as an assistant team physician for the New York Jets and the New York Islanders, in addition to Hofstra University and Hunter College. Dr. Levin continues to serve as the team physician for local high school teams, including Horace Greeley High School and Somers High School, and is the assistant team physician for Pace University. He is the co-author of several research articles, including book chapters on various orthopaedic procedures.
Dr. Levin cares for both high-level competitive athletes and weekend warriors and takes a team approach with his patients to get them back in the game. He has extensive experience in both non-operative and operative treatment of injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee with a focus on minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment. He is one of only a few providers in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley with a specialized clinical interest in arthroscopic treatment of the hip, using advanced arthroscopic techniques to treat various hip disorders, such as labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement. In addition, he performs office-based ultrasound-guided injections, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapy.

Dr. Khabie received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, followed by an internship in general surgery at the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine. After his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, he went on to complete his fellowship in sports medicine surgery at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, a world-renowned center in diagnosing and treating orthopaedic and sports medicine injuries.
During his fellowship, Dr. Khabie cared for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Los Angeles Sparks, and the University of Southern California football and basketball teams.
Dr. Khabie is a leading expert in the field of orthopaedic sports medicine surgery and possesses a particular interest in shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery, as well as robotic- assisted knee replacement surgery. He is the creator of a unique, patented knee brace with a multidimensional neoprene support called the “Victory Knee Brace,” which was first introduced at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting in San Francisco in 2004.
