I know how overwhelming life’s challenges can feel, and I approach each session with empathy and understanding. Whether you’re navigating personal struggles or relationship difficulties, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you feel truly heard. Together, we’ll work toward building clarity, connection, and resilience to help you move forward. As someone trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, I focus on fostering trust, improving communication, and enhancing emotional connection. I also incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy techniques to help clients identify their strengths and work toward practical, achievable goals. For individuals, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness techniques to support emotional regulation and build coping strategies, particularly for those navigating depression and anxiety. This well-rounded approach helps clients address challenges, develop resilience, and create healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I have a passion for helping and empowering people to live their best lives. Cynthia graduated with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Touro University. Cynthia’s approach is client centered and she works collaboratively with the client to reach the desired goals. Cynthia uses an eclectic approach including cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered, psychodynamic and solution focused therapy. What should a new client know about working with you? I’m very passionate about helping people. I was born in Paraguay and moved to the US at the age of 13, and speak Spanish and English fluently. I use my life experience to help clients achieve their desired goals in an empathic and non-judgmental way.
My goal is to ensure my clients make the best out of therapy and the approaches we utilize. I create a safe and open environment focused on helping clients work through their struggles while creating a healthy relationship with themselves and others. My approach to therapy is both educational and theoretical. I focus on meeting the client where they are currently at in their journey and help guide them to work on the goals we set together. I believe therapy is a joint effort.
We will identify issues of concern, plan goals, and create those first steps toward change. I use several different techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution -Focused therapy while maintaining a strengths-based, person- centered outlook. I have a wide range of experience in the fieldworking with clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance misuse, self-esteem, and family/relationship issues. I am excited to meet you and for us to start this journey together.

I am a Brooklyn native and senior psychotherapist who is proficient in working with clients to broaden their awareness of themselves, their thoughts, and their feelings. My primary goals are to: provide counseling through a sex positive and inclusive framework and provide a therapeutic space that is non-judgmental, authentic, respectful, and collaborative. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s degree in Mental Health & Counseling at Hofstra University. I have always been passionate about helping others and have been in the field of psychology for over 7 years. As a clinician, I work with adolescents and adults who have experienced or are living life with trauma, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, mood disturbances, and/or grief.
I offer therapy that is largely rooted in trauma-informed, person-centered, and evidence-based approaches. I specialize in Eye-movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based approach effective in treating: anger, emotional eating, procrastination/avoidance behaviors/indecision, relationship enrichment/healing, and stress management to name a few.
If there was a quote that personifies the essence of my clinical theory it is: “Therapy is not only about gaining insight, but also about making real changes in your life. Together, not only will we work towards developing more compassion and awareness, but also to bring practical solutions and coping skills into life.”With me, we can explore and discuss how past experiences, identity, and internalized systems may get in the way of your ability to live a life that feels purposeful, fulfilling, and mentally balanced.
Whenever you are ready, I am here to listen and create space for all your emotions, the tolerable and intolerable ones!
