Ann received her BSW from Shippensburg University and her MSW from Temple University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Ann Utilizes an eclectic combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical, Rational Emotive, and Psychodynamic styles of therapy with adults to develop insight and coping strategies about the issues which impact their lives. Ann has also worked with couples who are having difficulty communicating and managing conflict. Ann's additional areas of interest include helping individuals and families cope with medical issues and caregiving. She has spent much of her career as a medical social worker for local hospice agencies and worked with family affected by Alzheimer's disease.
I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor who is EMDR trained. I worked in community mental health at UPMC and in private practice. Prior to my counseling career I worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist, which was where my passion to help people in pain began. I have worked with a wide range of people with different backgrounds and cultures which helped me to learn to interface with a diverse population. I have my master's degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and went to the University of Pittsburgh for my undergraduate education. I truly respect people and and how difficult it can be to reach out for help. It is my intention to empower you, strengthen your individuality, and to help to strengthen your belief that you have great worth. We are more than our mistakes, and in my practice, I respect the courage it takes to navigate through the difficult emotions brought to therapy sessions.
