Dr. Jerome Garden is a Board Certified cosmetic and laser dermatology specialist at Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago. Since receiving his medical degree and dermatology training at Northwestern University Medical School, he has been involved in laser and related technology therapy and research, cosmetic dermatology, and patient care. He is currently a Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Northwestern University Medical School, and on staff both at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and The Children’s Memorial Hospital. Sarah Kasprowicz, MD, is a dermatologist practicing at Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. She has been practicing Dermatology since 2008.
Prior to Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago, Dr. Kasprowicz was on staff at NorthShore University HealthSystem, where she was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Chicago. Dr. Kasprowicz is originally from Santa Barbara, California; she holds an undergraduate degree from Bates College and a medical degree from Rush Medical College. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital and her dermatology residency at Rush University Health System, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Kasprowicz practices general medical dermatology with clinical interests in oncodermatology; allergic skin disease; women’s dermatology; complementary and alternative medicine in dermatology; and skin cancer screening, prevention, and management. She has developed an oncodermatology clinic dedicated to the care of cancer patients, addressing the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy and the changes seen in the skin during cancer treatment. Neill T. Peters, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Peters completed both his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Michigan. He received the William B. Taylor Senior Medical Student Award for Excellence in Dermatology. After completing a preliminary year of training in Internal Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, he returned to the University of Michigan for his Dermatology training. He was selected as the Chief Resident and served as the Melanoma Fellow in the Multidisciplinary Melanoma clinic in the final year of his residency. He received the Duncan O. Poth Award for Excellence in Dermatologic Research.
Originally from Michigan, Dr. Peters is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He has received multiple teaching awards and received the Founders Award from the Chicago Dermatological Society recognizing Excellence in Clinical Dermatology and Teaching in 2009. He was ranked by US News and World Report as a Top Dermatologist in Chicago in 2012. He has been cited in Consumer Checkpoint magazine as one of Chicago’s Top Dermatologists. Her journey in healthcare began at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, where she graduated in 2005. Over the course of her career, Tracee has amassed extensive experience in general, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology. She excels in the diagnosis and treatment of common dermatologic conditions, focusing on the treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer diagnosis and prevention, basic and intermediate surgical procedures, and has special interests in alternative medicine as well as expertise in cosmetic dermatology.

Ross Lane Pearlman, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist with dual fellowship training in cosmetic dermatology and Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery. He provides dermatology services to residents throughout the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, at Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago.
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Pearlman received his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his medicine internship at the University of Colorado Anschutz in Denver, followed by a dermatology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson on their Rural Dermatology Track.
While in residency, he spent three months of each year caring for patients in rural Mississippi with a focus on skin cancer. After residency, Dr. Pearlman completed a combined fellowship at Northwestern Feinberg Department of Dermatology in Chicago in cosmetic dermatology (ASDS-certified) and Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (MDSO).
Throughout his career, Dr. Pearlman has been dedicated to the scientific advancement of dermatology, quality improvement, and innovation in the field. He is the author of more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and five textbook chapters with a focus on photodermatology, skin cancer, and cosmetics.
Outside of the clinic, he is dedicated to innovation and problem-solving. In 2021, Dr. Pearlman was awarded the American Dermatological Association Resident Research Award, the highest honor bestowed on housestaff by the organization, for his work integrating dermatology's clinical data registry into Epic EHR.
Dr. Pearlman was recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) with an Excellence in Patient Care Award for Quality Improvement in Spring 2022; he was named one of five national Residents of Distinction by DermMentors. Outside of dermatology, Ross enjoys all outdoor activities, especially wilderness backpacking, flyfishing, and skiing.

Medical dermatologist Benjamin Garden, MD, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Garden is available to see patients of all ages at Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago, located in River North.
Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Garden graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University in New York City. He earned his medical degree from Cornell University, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Hofstra University in NYC.
After his long exile on the East Coast, Dr. Garden was happy to return with his family to Chicago to complete his dermatology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Garden has authored many academic articles and textbook chapters in the field of dermatology. He is a fellow of and has served on committees for the American Academy of Dermatology, Chicago Dermatological Society, and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Jeanne Hoag is well known in the Des Plaines area and has been practicing dermatology for over 25 years. After completing her education at the University of Illinois Medical School, she continued her Dermatology training and residency at the University of Illinois. Her practice encompasses general medical and surgical dermatology. Dr. Hoag is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She is an active member of the Chicago Dermatological Society and the American Academy of Dermatology. She brings experience and quality care to our patients.
Dr. Suleman Bangash is Board Certified in Dermatology and is a Fellowship trained Mohs Micrographic Skin Cancer Surgeon. Dr. Bangash is originally from the Elgin area and is a graduate of Elgin Academy. He attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate studies and attended medical school at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did his internship training at Summa Health System, in Ohio, and then completed his Dermatology residency in New York City at the Lutheran General Hospital.
After completing his dermatology training, Dr. Bangash was one of only 40 physicians chosen nationwide to do an additional year of Mohs Surgery fellowship training. He completed his Moh’s Surgery Fellowship in Tallahassee, Florida at a program accredited by the American College of Mohs Surgery. As a fellowship trained Mohs Surgeon, Dr. Bangash is trained in the surgical removal, pathologic interpretation, and reconstructive surgery of skin cancer. As an expert in Cutaneous Oncology, he is involved in the treatment, management, and regular follow-up of high-risk skin cancer patients.Dr. Bangash continued his work for two years at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee as an Attending Mohs Surgeon. He then returned to his hometown in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, where he now practices at Mohs Surgery and Dermatology Center, with offices located in Elgin and Crystal Lake, IL. Dr. Bangash is a staff physician affiliated with Sherman and Provena St. Joseph Hospitals in Elgin, Centegra Woodstock Memorial Hospital, and St. Alexius hospital in Hoffman Estates.
Dr. Bangash has lectured and presented at national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Donovan Kearns is a board-certified dermatologist that joined the practice in fall of 2025. He completed both his medical school education as well as his dermatology residency at Loma Linda University in Southern California, where he had extensive training in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Before beginning residency, he completed a year-long Research Fellowship with the Dermatology Research and Education Foundation in California, focusing on inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and other related diseases.
Dr. Kearns has authored over 30 peer reviewed publications across leading dermatology journals and has contributed to research on new and emerging treatments for inflammatory skin diseases. He has presented his work at national meetings and has been recognized for academic excellence, including his induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. His academic interests include inflammatory skin conditions, autoimmune disease, pediatric dermatology and the holistic management of skin disease.
Dr. Kearns is committed to a whole-person approach to dermatologic care, recognizing that skin conditions often affect not only physical health but also emotional well-being. He believes every patient deserves a physician who listens, understands, and genuinely cares for them.

Dr. A. David Soleymani was born in Maryland but grew up as a Hoosier in Valparaiso, Indiana. After graduating from Valparaiso High School, he received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. He then completed his medical education at Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by residency training at The Ohio State University Medical Center. During his dermatology residency, he trained in medical, surgical, Mohs surgery, and dermatology.
After becoming board certified in Dermatology, Dr. Soleymani practiced and was Assistant Clinical Professor in Dermatology at Northwestern University in downtown Chicago from 2005-2015. As a fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, he has a strong passion for treating skin cancer and his interests include medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. In order to stay on the cutting edge of dermatology, Dr. Soleymani regularly attends advanced training sessions in new and emerging techniques in dermatology and dermatologic surgery and communicates daily with dermatology colleagues around the world. He recently was elected President of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, one of the premier organizations for Mohs surgery in the world and served from 2024-2025. He continues to serve on their board of directors.
Dr. Soleymani is pleased to announce that he is officially back to his roots as a Hoosier, recently appointed as a Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Soleymani is a music and sport enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys playing tennis, watching basketball and hockey particularly the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, and the Indiana Hoosiers, and plays bass guitar. As a language enthusiast, he is fluent in French, studied German for six years, and can write, read, and understand Persian (Farsi). His next languages may include Spanish, Italian, or both!
In his spare time, Dr. Soleymani developed an app called dermio which seeks to provide dermatologic care to economically and geographically underserved patient populations.
Dr. Soleymani believes in helping patients improve their skin and helps them discern real treatments that work vs. unproven fads and hype.

Dr. Lauren Cerullo graduated with honors from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a degree in art history and premedical studies. She went on to obtain her doctorate in medicine from Rush Medical College in Chicago, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society for academic achievement. During her medical school training she received numerous honors including the Janet M. Glasgow award for a female student graduating first in her class.
Dr. Lauren Cerullo completed a medical internship at Rush University and then completed her dermatology residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was chosen to serve as chief resident. Throughout her years of dermatology training, she had the opportunity to work with leaders in the field, including a mentorship award to study at the University of Bologna in Italy. She has presented at numerous dermatology meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals. During residency, she was also active in teaching medical students and volunteering as medical staff at Camp Wonder, a summer camp for children with severe skin disease.
After graduating from residency, Dr. Lauren Cerullo moved to Indiana and worked for several years in private practice. She has taught medical students at the University of Notre Dame medical school and has mentored residents from local family practice residencies. Dr. Lauren Cerullo is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Indiana Academy of Dermatology and the Women's Dermatologic Society. Her clinical interests include a wide range of pediatric and adult conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer prevention and treatment.
