Mr. Eric Bussear is a certified Physician Assistant working with Luminary Dermatology. He provides medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology care in the Aventura, Kendall, and Homestead locations. He is a Clinical Professor and Preceptor in the Physician Assistant Programs at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and Miami Dade College in Miami.
Mr. Bussear began his medical career as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy serving 6 years of active duty, he continued his studies earning both his Bachelor of Science as a Physician Assistant and his Master of Public Health degrees at Nova Southeastern University. He has been in practice for 28 years and has performed many surgical and cosmetic procedures. Well versed in the diagnosis and management of multiple medical skin disorders including Psoriasis, Acne, Rosacea, Melasma, Skin Cancer(s) and Mole Checks/Skin Exams using the latest treatment options, including biologics. He also provides cosmetic consultations, Dermal Fillers, Botox, and Laser Treatment.
Mr. Bussear has participated as a sub-investigator in many clinical studies of mild to moderate acne, inflammatory rosacea, acne vulgaris, diabetic neuropathic foot ulcers, actinic keratosis, concomitant onychomycosis, and many more. He has served on the editorial boards of several journals and as a reviewer for others while publishing his own works. He has also presented several scientific posters and given many lecture. He is a very compassionate provider and wants all his patients to receive the best of care always.
Dr. Brazen is a native Floridian from Clearwater, FL. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Florida State University before moving back home to complete his Master's degree in Medical Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr. Brazen went on to complete medical school at Nova Southeastern University, and subsequently stayed in Southeast Florida to complete his three-year Dermatology Residency at Broward Health Medical Center.
There he received extensive training in general and complex medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery, injectable fillers, lasers, and Botox. During his residency, Dr. Brazen was elected to serve as Academic chief resident, an honor awarded to the top residents in their class. During his residency, Dr. Brazen published papers in many academic journals and was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Florida Academy of Dermatology. Additionally, he serves as a delegate for the Florida Medical Association. Outside of the office, Dr. Brazen is an avid golfer, scuba diver, and fisherman. He loves to spend time with his family and their pet Sheepadoodle, Goose.
