Shirley Xu, DNP, FNP-BC is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and her Master’s degree and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Columbia University.
Shirley Xu sees patients for dermatology concerns including but not limited to eczema, acne, rosacea, hair loss, and psoriasis as well as aesthetic and procedural treatments. She is dedicated to treating patients with an individualized approach. She understands how dermatological conditions can impact the quality of one’s life and is committed to helping her patients feel empowered and confident in their own skin. She is passionate about skincare and utilizes her research background to stay up to date about skincare ingredients, treatments, and procedures.
Born and raised in New York City. Shirley is fluent in two dialects of Chinese. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her bunny Momo, biking and traveling internationally.
Tobechi Ebede, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, founded Plaza Park Dermatology, located in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.
She founded the practice with a simple philosophy: To educate and empower patients with the ability to maintain their skincare at home. This practical-yet-compassionate approach carries over to every aspect of her practice, which emphasizes timely, accessible, personalized treatment.
A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Ebede earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She was voted “Intern of the Year” at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital before progressing to Dermatology residency training at Weill-Cornell/NYPH.
She completed a prestigious Mohs surgery/procedural dermatology fellowship at the joint NYU-Memorial Sloan-Kettering program. Dr. Ebede is a member of the Weill Cornell clinical teaching faculty, where she is actively involved in the education of medical students and resident physicians.
Dr. Ebede is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She has published articles and chapters in the field of dermatology and Mohs surgery.
In her free time, Dr. Ebede enjoys traveling and has a particular interest in international medicine. She has participated in volunteer trips to Belize, Nicaragua, and the Philippines and looks forward to more international medical missions in the future.
