Ida Rastegar graduated from Yale University and earned her M.D. at Emory University in Atlanta. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and went on to join the faculty at UCLA for several years. After moving to Boulder, CO with her husband and three children, she took on the role of office manager for Rinnova.
