With more than 10 years of experience in primary care, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity management, and mental health, my passion lies in empowering individuals to take control of their health and achieve optimal wellness.
I began my journey in healthcare by earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rockhurst University and then a Master's Degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with a Specialization in Family Medicine from Nova Southeastern University. Over the years, I have worked with diverse populations, addressed complex health concerns, and fostered long-term wellness through a whole-person approach.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that proper health extends beyond the absence of disease. I take the time to understand each patient's unique story, lifestyle, and goals, collaborating with them to create individualized care plans. My approach combines evidence-based medicine with innovative strategies that support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Outside the clinic, I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of medical advancements, regularly attending professional development courses, seminars, and National Congress meetings. In my free time, my first passion is my faith, followed by my family. I enjoy all outdoor activities in my free time, especially those on the water. I'm also passionate about cooking healthy meals and self-care, which aligns with my commitment to a balanced and vibrant life.

Poonam Malhotra, MD, is a family medicine physician at Central Clinic in Spring Hill, Florida. She is proud to provide comprehensive internal medicine and primary care services as well as womens health care.

Dr. Akintade completed her medical education at Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, DC. She completed an Internal Medicine internship at Howard University Hospital and a residency in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Department of Health in Palm Beach County, FL. Dr. Akintade is board certified in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, possessing additional training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, as well as Urgent Care. She has extensive experience in primary care and public health, Occupational Safety, and Health Administration sectors and is a Certified Medical Review Officer as well as a Department of Transportation Medical Examiner. Additionally, Dr. Akintade is experienced in Utilization Management and Healthcare Quality Improvement and has a Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt. She is licensed in multiple states including Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia. Dr. Akintade is also a Major in the US Army Reserves.
