Charles "Charlie" I. Stein, MD, FACOG, FASLS, is a highly experienced physician specializing in laser medicine, surgery, and advanced vein treatment at Vascular Vein Centers, with locations in Orlando, Waterford Lakes of East Orlando, Kissimmee, Lake Mary, The Villages, and Davenport/Haines City, Florida. Born and raised in Sanford, Florida, Dr. Stein has dedicated his career to caring for patients throughout the state, bringing more than four decades of medical expertise to his practice.
Dr. Stein holds dual credentials as both a pharmacist and a board-certified physician. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Georgia School of Pharmacy before completing his medical degree at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) and the Medical College of Georgia. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) as well as a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (FASLMS). His additional certifications include microsurgery and ultrasound.
After extensive training, Dr. Stein practiced gynecologic surgical oncology, where he treated women with complex and often life-altering conditions. During this time, he recognized that venous disease was another significant and underaddressed source of discomfort, stress, and health concerns for many patients. This insight led him to pursue advanced training in phlebology and actively participate in national vein and phlebology societies.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Stein has focused on diagnosing and treating vein conditions using modern, minimally invasive techniques. Today, he devotes his full attention to vein care, combining precision, experience, and compassion to help patients achieve improved comfort, confidence, and quality of life.
Dr. Stein is fluent in Spanish and proudly serves a diverse patient community.

“I really appreciated the fact that she made me feel heard! My situation wasn’t resolved in one visit, but I left with a plan that I was comfortable with! I know this sounds like common sense for a good practice, but it’s so hard to find that now a days! All I can say is “thank you!!””

Dr. Fernandes has been practicing as an Ob/Gyn for almost 20 years. She started her career in
the United States Air Force. During her time there she had multiple leadership duties within the
hospital including medical director. After her service, she worked in the private sector with local
hospitals and private practices. Her scope involved office patient care, gynecologic surgeries,
and OB hospitalist care. However, the thing dearest to her heart is using the abilities she’s been
blessed with to share her faith and provide medical care to those in need overseas. Dr.
Fernandes has done numerous medical mission trips to countries spanning three continents;
her favorite is Africa. She also volunteers here with Oasis Pregnancy Center as medical director
for them. Dr. Fernandes is also in seminary school pursuing a degree in theology. But the thing
she is most grateful for is how God delivered her through her cancer battle. And she shares that
with patients whenever she can.
