Dr. Benosa received her doctorate in optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California in 2013. During optometry school, she served as secretary of her class for three years and Vice President of the honors fraternity Beta Sigma Kappa and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. Dr. Benosa completed externships at Hoopes Vision in Utah, Veteran's Affairs Sierra Vista Community Based Outpatient Clinic, and the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
After optometry school, Dr. Benosa furthered her education with a one year residency in Ocular Disease at the Braverman Eye Center in Florida. There she gained extensive experience in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, managing ocular disease, and participating in refractive surgery co-management.
Since residency, Dr. Benosa has returned to her hometown of Valencia. Dr. Benosa strives to use her experience, knowledge, and commitment to lifelong learning to deliver comprehensive eyecare for all patients. She focuses on preventative care like detecting disease in early stages and is glaucoma certified. Dr. Benosa enjoys working with children to identify vision problems early and offer intervention for amblyopia, strabismus, binocular vision conditions, and myopia management. Dr. Benosa also has an interest in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with keratoconus as well as post-surgical or irregular corneas and has over 10 years experience of fitting soft, gas permeable and scleral lenses. Her goal is to enhance each patient’s vision and quality of life. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with patients and contributing to the exceptional care at Family Vision Care.
Mary Demirjian, OD, is a dedicated and compassionate optometristat Wide Eye Optometry. Families in the Encino neighborhood in Los Angeles, Santa Clarita or Palmdale, California, have a valuable resource in Dr. Demijiran for their vision needs.
Dr. Demirjian was born and raised in San Fernando Valley. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from California State University, Northridge in the Northridge neighborhood of Los Angelos, California. After graduation, she pursued her optometry education at Marshall B. Ketchum University's Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California, where she received her doctorate of optometry (OD).
Her experiences include providing vision care in the optometry department at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, as well as the Optometric Center of Los Angeles.
Dr. Demirjian takes great pride in working with the most experienced surgeons and state-of-the-art technology. To stay current with the latest insights into optometry, she is an active member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and the San Fernando Valley Optometric Society.
Dr. Demirjian is trained and licensed to prescribe diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceuticals for vision issues. She can also diagnose, treat and help manage glaucoma. Throughout her career, she has co-managed LASIK procedures as well.
With each patient who comes into her care, she enjoys discussing with them their goals and benefits of each procedure. Dr. Demirjian can speak fluent English, Armenian, and Spanish with patients while coordinating their vision care.
When she’s not helping patients at Wide Eye Optometry, Dr. Demirjian enjoys traveling and spend quality time with her husband and their children.
