Carl Garbus, OD, is a seasoned neuro-optometric rehabilitation specialist who provides vision therapies and rehabilitative services to adults and children in Valencia, California. As part of the team at Family Vision Care Optometry, a part of the DeyeNAMICS Alliance, Dr. Garbus is dedicated to offering preventive care and the highest-quality treatments available.
Dr. Garbus graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1980. He opened two private practices in Valencia, Family Vision Care Optometry and Family Vision Care Optometry Neuro Vision Rehabilitation. Currently, the practices emphasize care for children and adults with vision deficits from traumatic brain injury, stroke, and developmental and learning problems.
Dr. Garbus has hospital privileges and consults at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, and Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita. In addition, he works with the following rehabilitation centers: Centre For Neuro Skills, Solutions At Santa Barbara, and the Brain Injury Specialists. He has made various presentations and in-services to optometric societies, occupational therapy groups, and PTA groups regarding vision problems.
Another area of interest for Dr. Garbus is working with children with learning problems. Autism is on the rise, and these children have many vision issues that need to be addressed. Family Vision Care has an office equipped to help children with autism.
Dr. Garbus was president of the Los Angeles County Optometric Society in 1993 and as vice president on the board for the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA). He also served as president of the organization in 2010.

Dr. Scheinhorn received her Doctor of Medicine from Tulane University in New Orleans, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She was also cited by the American Medical Women’s Association for scholastic achievement. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Eye Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Scheinhorn has served the community of Glendale and La Canada, California for over 30 years. She was voted Best Ophthalmologist, Glendale in 2017 and 2018. She has also been honored for her dedication and support of Glendale Healthy Kids.
Eric T. Ikeda, OD, is an esteemed optometrist at Optometric Vision Care Associates, Inc., a part of the DeyeNAMICS Alliance. The practice serves patients in Bellflower, California.
Dr. Ikeda earned his Doctor of Optometry from Marshall B. Ketchum University, formerly Southern California College of Optometry, in Fullerton, California. He also holds a fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
With a rich history of leadership, Dr. Ikeda is a past president of both the Optometric Extension Program Foundation and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA). His dedication to the field has earned him numerous accolades, including the Advancement of Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Award, the President's Award, and the prestigious "Founding Fathers Medal."
Dr. Ikeda played a pivotal role in establishing the Neurooptometry Clinic at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation. He currently serves as a vision rehabilitation consultant for several rehabilitation facilities, including NeuroRestorative and Centre for Neuro Skills, and is set to collaborate with the California Rehabilitation Institute.
An experienced educator, Dr. Ikeda has served as a clinical associate professor at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry and is an active member of the American Optometric Association Vision Rehabilitation Committee.
Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, fishing, and golfing. Dr. Ikeda's extensive expertise and commitment to patient care make him a leading figure in optometric vision rehabilitation.
