Dr. Harwood earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, where he also completed his residency. During his residency, Dr. Harwood served as Chief at New England Boston Hospital, where he honed his skill for joint replacement surgery, among the hospital’s areas of renowned expertise. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship at the University of Colorado, Boulder in sports medicine. During this fellowship, Dr. Harwood received specialized training in arthroscopy, minimally-invasive hip and knee replacement surgery, and sports medicine.
In addition to seeing patients at his private practice, formerly South Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, inc. Dr. Harwood performs surgery out of Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, Forest Surgery Center, and Knowles Surgery Center in Los Gatos.
Dr. Harwood is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the California Orthopedic Association, and the Western Orthopedic Association.
Dr. Harwood is a native of Los Angeles and is married to Rachelle Harwood, a San Jose native. They have called the South Valley home for more than two decades and enjoy spending time with their two children, Colton and Macyn.
