Orthopaedic surgeon Adam Bright, MD, provides expert services for patients with musculoskeletal diseases and injuries at Schofield, Hand and Bright Orthopaedics in Sarasota, Florida. He specializes in performing custom-guided knee replacement surgeries, which deliver greater accuracy and cause significantly less bleeding than traditional knee replacement procedures.
Dr. Bright attended the University of Miami in Miami, Florida, graduating as a Doctor of Medicine with Research Distinction. He completed his internship in general surgery at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by an orthopaedic residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, also in Baltimore.

John Hand, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in care of the upper extremity. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. His residency followed at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hand then completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Western York. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic surgery (ABOS).
Dr. Hand evaluates and treats disorders from the elbow to the fingertips, simple to complex, in the adolescent and adult population primarily. Each patient is given undivided attention, a thorough explanation of the condition, and instruction on different treatment options. His approach to treating patients has always been one of shared decision making, such that the plan of care aligns with the patient's preferences and values.
Dr. Hand has been recognized by Castle and Connolly as a regional "top doctor” for over fifteen consecutive years. He believes in supporting the greater Sarasota community with educational efforts and volunteerism. Like his partners, Drs. Schofield and Bright, he has been a clinical assistant professor for the Florida State University College of Medicine since 2005. He has also provided volunteer surgical services for the uninsured via the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Community Medical Clinic throughout his career.

In addition to his academic achievements and considerable experience in private practice, Dr. Schofield has served as consulting team physician for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996 until 2013. He's been providing the same service for the Baltimore Orioles since 2003. Dr. Schofield is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
