Dr. Burney was born in Madison, Wisconsin. His parents were both in the teaching profession and taught the importance of learning and education. Living abroad during high school, he had the unique opportunity to graduate with a secondary education certification from the University of Cambridge in England.
He returned to the University of Wisconsin in Madison to complete his undergraduate degree in medical microbiology and immunology with a special interest in communicative diseases of the third world.

He was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and moved to Dallas, Texas, at the age of 17. Growing up, Dr. Volpini had a strong passion for sports, especially soccer. Dr. Gross earned his medical degree at Texas A&M College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. During his final year in residency training, Dr. Gross had the opportunity to train abroad in Auckland, New Zealand, performing primarily pediatric trauma care. Having a particular interest in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Gross elected to complete a fellowship specializing in joint replacement at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida.
Dr. Gross has returned to his home state of Texas, where he now lives with his wife and children. When not in the clinic or with his family, Dr. Gross enjoys weight training and running.
