She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Throughout her career, Kathy has gained extensive expertise in wound care, HIV/AIDS treatment, and chronic disease management through her work in various settings, including ambulatory clinics, acute care hospitals, and specialty hospitals.
Kathy has experience providing direct primary care to underserved populations, focusing on wound care and managing acute and chronic conditions. Her previous experience as a house supervisor and ICU charge nurse at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital and UAMS, respectively, has given her strong clinical skills in wound management, ventilator weaning, and infection control.
In addition to her clinical practice, Kathy is board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has been nationally certified as an HIV Specialist. She has shared her expertise through numerous presentations and has served as a panelist on public health discussions addressing healthcare challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
