Dr. Carden provides patient-focused care, tailoring his approach to address not only the physical needs of patients in the Los Angeles area but also their mental and emotional state.
Dr. Carden offers personalized pain management programs for patients living with arthritis, neuropathy, sciatica, and other types of back and neck pain. He also diagnoses and treats complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), which is sometimes referred to as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD). With decades of experience, Dr. Carden addresses the underlying cause of pain with a range of treatments, including spinal cord stimulators, radiofrequency ablation, and all forms of injections.
Following his prestigious education at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, Dr. Carden served internships at Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, England, and Plaistow Hospital in London. He completed his residency at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London and the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Carden also completed rigorous fellowship training as a hyperbaric research fellow at the University of British Columbia.
Over the years, Dr. Carden has shared his knowledge and experience in several academic appointments. Most recently, he retired from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles after 17 years as a clinical professor.
Dr. Carden has also invented several anesthesia devices, published dozens of peer-reviewed articles in renowned medical journals, and lectured at medical conferences around the world.

Dr. Tong is a Harvard trained, double board-certified physician in interventional pain management and anesthesiology. He is a nationally recognized expert in pain medicine, especially in the treatment of neck and lower back pain. He utilizes leading edge techniques including spinal injections, Botox, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and intrathecal therapies to manage pain. He has a passion for humanity and science, and believes that each patient deserves our best.
A southern Californian native, Dr. Lai completed his medical training at Tufts University where he subsequently served as a clinical instructor. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also holds board certifications in Pain Medicine and Independent Medical Examiners.
Dr. Lai’s primary goal is to achieve maximal restoration of physical, psychological, social and vocational function through comprehensive rehabilitation. Dr. Lai’s professional interests include interventional pain management, neuromusculoskeletal disorders, electrodiagnostics, industrial and occupational rehabilitation. His approach to caring is based on improvement in quality of life through improvement in function.
Dr. Lai understands that physicians today must have superb clinical expertise, plus an understanding of business advocacy systems to help patients access the insurance, medical care, and the support required when facing an injury in order to help people improve their quality of life.
Dr. Shinto Koshy completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency training at the State University of New York Downstate and is board certified. He completed his Interventional Spine Fellowship at Centers for Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Koshy is an active member with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. His philosophy of care is a comprehensive approach while focusing on prevention, educating patients about their pain, and giving patients the opportunity to make the right choices with their healthcare.
