Aashish Jay Kumar, MD, D.ABA, is an interventional pain medicine specialist at Spine & Pain Specialists of the Carolinas in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has extensive experience in interventional pain medicine and perioperative pain management.
Dr. Kumar is a native of Charlotte, NC. He is a board-certified anesthesiologist and has completed fellowships in pediatric anesthesiology and interventional pain medicine. Dr. Kumar is committed to providing compassionate, personalized, and holistic care to all his patients. Dr. Kumar enjoys bike riding, golfing, listening to music, learning about technology, and being a DJ in his free time. He resides in the Ballantyne neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina, with his family and their dog Duke. He also likes to work on automobiles, participate in American Indian cultural activities, and spend time with his family. He’s a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

A native of Monroe, New York, Dr. Baksh earned his undergraduate degree at Bloomfield College, graduating summa cum laude while attending on a baseball scholarship. He then pursued his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In 2008, he completed a traditional rotating internship at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at SUNY Buffalo and a fellowship in pain management at the University of Cincinnati.
Since 2013, Dr. Baksh has been a key opinion leader for St. Jude Medical and Flowonix Medical, and he is recognized as a distinguished presenter and published author for the North American Neuromodulation Society.
Outside of his medical career, Dr. Baksh enjoys cycling, hiking, and giving back to the community by volunteering with organizations such as Meals on Wheels.
