Nathan Giles, DO, FAAP is a pediatrician caring for children in the Las Vegas community. Dr. Giles graduated with his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He then received his medical degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. After graduating medical school he completed a pediatric residency program at the University of New Mexico Hospital. After completing his residency, Dr. Giles moved to Las Vegas to begin work at Nevada Pediatric Specialists. He is excited and proud to be working with the families of Las Vegas. He strives to provide high-quality care to infants, children and adolescents through all their stages of growth and development. He enjoys sharing his medical knowledge with his patients and their families.
In his free time, Dr. Giles enjoys playing the piano, spending time with his wife and children, putting together puzzles and reading books.
Joanne Wennstrom, APRN, CPNP-PC/AC, is a dedicated and highly experienced pediatric nurse practitioner, providing both acute and primary care to infants, children, and adolescents at Nevada Pediatric Specialists in Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada. With a deep passion for pediatric medicine and a commitment to compassionate, high-quality care, Joanne is devoted to supporting children and their families through every stage of development.
Originally from Upstate New York, Joanne brings over 30 years of pediatric experience across inpatient, outpatient, and specialized care settings, including school health. Her extensive background includes 27 years as a registered nurse in the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Children’s Hospital of Albany Medical Center, where she provided comprehensive, family-centered care to critically ill infants—from extremely premature newborns to one year of age.
Joanne earned her Master of Science in Child Health Nursing from Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY, obtaining her Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification in 2017. She later expanded her expertise with a Post-Master’s Certificate in Pediatric Acute Care and earned her Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification.
Beyond clinical practice, Joanne is passionate about advocacy and advancing pediatric healthcare. She played a key role in establishing Cleft-Craniofacial Clinics and assisting hospitals in obtaining national certification for specialized teams in New York and Nebraska. Additionally, she directed the Helmet Clinic in Omaha, NE, providing critical care for infants with positional cranial deformities.
Joanne believes in building meaningful relationships and providing high-quality, evidence-based whole health Pediatric Primary care with Team collaboration beginning with the needs of each individual patient and family.
Outside of work, Joanne enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming, taking long walks, and reading—all alongside her beloved dog, Angel.
