Dr. Jeff Takai is a dental implant and gum disease specialist at Ramona Family Dentistry. Dr. Takai grew up in southern California where his father was also a dentist. As a result, he has been involved in dentistry in some capacity his entire life and he developed a strong passion for dentistry at a young age.
Dr. Takai completed his undergraduate schooling at UC Berkeley. He then attended University of the Pacific for dental school and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school Dr. Takai was attracted to the surgical side of dentistry and decided he wanted to become more specialized. Upon graduation, he furthered his education and training in periodontics at UC San Francisco where he completed his surgical residency in 2013.

Dr. Takai and his wife, Sarah live in southern California where they enjoy cooking and traveling together. During his free time, Dr. Takai also enjoys reading, practicing Jiu Jitsu, and playing golf.
Jeremy Owyoung, DDS, is a skilled periodontist at Vartanian Dental Group in Mission Viejo, California. He specializes in treating and maintaining the gums, bones, and tissue that support your teeth.
A graduate of the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Owyoung graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Management Science. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California’s School of Dentistry (USC).
Upon completing dental school, Dr. Owyoung trained at the University of California, San Francisco, to achieve his specialty certificate in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. During this time, he also earned a master’s degree in Biomaterials and Oral Biology. He has published literature on various topics, including chronic disease prevention, oral health promotion, dental biomaterials, and oral implantology.
Dr. Owyoung is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a recognized specialty of the American Dental Association.
When he’s not fixing smiles, Dr. Owyoung enjoys mountain biking, music, and digital photography. He also enjoys NBA basketball and cheering for his favorite college football team -- USC!
