Dr. J. Taylor Mansfield is a board-certified interventional spine and pain physician with a passion for restoring function and improving quality of life through minimally invasive spine care. Originally from Upstate New York, Dr. Mansfield’s dedication to performance and wellness began early through his involvement in competitive sports. He grew up playing hockey and lacrosse and went on to compete in Division I lacrosse at Drexel University before completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
He earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. During his time at Georgetown, Dr. Mansfield was selected for the research track, contributing numerous peer-reviewed publications in the fields of musculoskeletal and spine medicine and received multiple awards for teaching excellence. He then pursued fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine at the University of Virginia, where he gained advanced expertise in the latest techniques and innovations in spine care.
Dr. Mansfield spent the past several years in private practice in Asheville, North Carolina, where he specialized in cutting-edge, image-guided procedures for spine and joint pain. He is committed to providing patients with personalized, evidence-based care using the most current advancements in interventional pain management.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Mansfield enjoys spending time with his wife and their three young boys—Henry, Graham, and Marshall. His family is actively involved in their faith community at Fellowship Church Middlebrook. In his free time, he’s also an avid pickleball player and enjoys staying active with his family.
