Pediatric neurologist Joshua Rotenberg, MD and pediatric pulmonologist Sarat Susarla, MD lead the region in patient-centered diagnosis and treatment of neurological, pulmonary, and sleep disorders. Fully trained in general pediatrics, both physicians care about illness management. We are here to help.
The HSC team provides personalized care at Houston Specialty Clinic located in Houston, and Sugar Land, Texas. Increasing convenience and continuity, HSC offers telemedicine services that do not require a visit to the clinic.
Dr. Rotenberg provides advanced pediatric neurology and neurophysiology services for infants, children, and teens, treating conditions like epilepsy, concussion / brain injury, dysautonomia, headaches, ADHD, autism, and movement disorders. With Shamile Morgan MC and Kara Schmidt PA we offer developmental testing and dietary management. An epileptologist, Dr Rotenberg offers standard EEG and home video eeg.
Dr. Susarla provides a full range of pediatric pulmonary services, including diagnosis and management of children with respiratory diseases, asthma care, advanced pediatric lung function testing down to age 3, management of chronic lung disease, home oxygen, CPAP/BIPAP therapy and management of tracheostomy/ventilator dependent children. The team at Houston Specialty Clinic also offers sleep medicine testing and treatment for patients of all ages, from infants through adults. They perform sleep studies for adults and children, including home sleep testing. They also provide continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP/BIPAP) management for sleep apnea.

Dr. Sarat Susarla is truly a pilar of physician excellence. After a year-long journey and essentially no answers from other providers, I happened upon his practice information online. Dr. Susarla listened intently, asked the right questions, and had a diagnosis in a matter of minutes. I've never seen anything like it! The diagnostic testing was just confirmation of what he told us without having seen a single report. Dr. Susarla patient and kind. I feel so much peace now knowing my baby is in his care. If I could add more stars, I would. We couldn't have asked for a better doctor!!!

Dr. Rotenberg is a wonderful doctor. I’ve no hesitation recommending him for your child. He’s an excellent neurologist who works well with other doctors when a referral is needed and will help you with your school system. He is also very good with children and is kind and funny. He is a nice man.

Dr. Susarla is amazing!! He is patient, kind, and listens to the patient. He thoroughly explains what is going on with my breathing, and why he is recommending things for my care. He is also very compassionate. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Susarla and his staff are respectful competent and thorough. I was provided with all the information I needed at each appointment. Dr. Susarla in particular is very clear sharing his understanding of the complex results and quickly providing necessary interventions to help my son.

He thoroughly went through all of the files, papers, lab results and even photos with us and talked us through a plan. His playful demeanor with our daughter helped her to relax and participate joyfully in her appointment. So glad we found this practice!
Dr Rotengerg and his team are worth a 5-star review. They have been very attentive to our daughter’s health since our 1st appointment. We enjoy the time they take to explain the treatment path and provide guidance on what to beyond the medical office.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. My daughter sees Dr. Susarla for her asthma, and he excels in explaining the treatment plan and adjusting medications. Before seeing Dr. Susarla, my daughter experienced asthma exacerbations, but since he modified the treatment plan, she has been doing well. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a pediatric pulmonologist. Many thanks to Dr. Susarla and his team, including the excellent office staff and nurses.
Dr. Rotenberg is a great doctor who pinned exactly what treatment my daughter needed. He took the time to communicate with and is a great listener. Staff was very nice, professional. I would recommend this doctor.
