About Alizah Smith, NP

Alizah Smith, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) at Hopewell Health Solutions in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She has a strong commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. 

Alizah completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Connecticut in 2008 and went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatry from Ohio University in 2023.

Over the last 17 years, she has worked with kids, teens, and adults in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Alizah has additional specific training working with addiction disorders and treating the whole person during the recovery process. Alizah treats both acute and chronic psychiatric conditions and works with children, teens, and adults at Hopewell Health Solutions.

Alizah’s goal is to work collaboratively with her clients in an environment that is safe and supportive. She promotes honest discussions that work towards her clients achieving their optimum state of mental well-being. This holistic approach is based on the understanding that when one area is off balance for a client, it will affect other aspects as well. She enjoys working with clients and helping them to find that balance, which can include lifestyle changes, therapeutic strategies, and medications. 

Alizah talks with her patients through difficult and complicated medical decisions, such as making psychiatric medication adjustments. Alizah is deeply committed to promoting mental wellness, reducing stigma, and empowering individuals through collaborative, person-centered treatment. She believes that a strong therapeutic alliance, combined with a comprehensive, individualized approach to care, can make a profound difference in a patient’s recovery and overall well-being.

Currently residing in Glastonbury, Connecticut, Alizah enjoys life with her husband, two children, and their dog, Willow. When she is not driving her children to all of their activities, she finds enjoyment in hiking, practicing yoga, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends. She is a lifelong learner, continually pursuing professional development to provide the most effective and up-to-date care for her patients.
